Update Notes – Week 1 Early Access Improvements 🚀

A new update is now live, focused on stability, performance, and polishing the early-game experience. We’re one week into Early Access, and your feedback has been invaluable — thank you for helping us shape Off World Racing.

📸 1. Camera & Start Sequence Fixes

We’ve resolved several issues with the camera during the race countdown, ensuring a cleaner and more stable start.

Additional fixes address rare moments where the camera slipped under the terrain or behaved unpredictably.

⚙️ 2. Performance Optimisation & Shader Model 5 Support

General optimisation across multiple systems should now result in smoother framerates for most players.

We’ve also added Shader Model 5 support, allowing older GPUs to run the game more reliably.

🧍‍♂️ 3. Improved Ragdoll & Recovery for Bike Racers

Ragdoll physics for bike drivers have been improved for more natural reactions during crashes.

The recovery system has also been refined — though if you ignore a vehicle’s safety rating, you may still find yourself achieving unexpected altitude.

🚗 4. Vehicle Handling & Damage Adjustments

Following last weekend's introduction of the damage system (version 0.080), multiple vehicles have received handling updates and fine-tuning.

Simulation Mode now features more substantial damage effects to better reflect the harsher driving conditions.

Cosmetic damage is planned for in future updates.

🤖 5. AI & Lighting Improvements

AI behaviour has been improved for smoother and more competitive single-player racing.

Mars Binkley Point has received updates, including brighter lighting where needed.

During the night race on Mars Binkley Point, AI racers now correctly use their headlights, making the track more readable and the racing more immersive.

Thank you again for the support during our first week of Early Access. We’re committed to improving Off World Racing step by step — and your feedback helps shape every update.
