Object Factory v2.0 – Devlog Announcement

A new update for Object Factory is coming soon—and it’s already available on the beta branch for testing.

Version 2.0 is all about making factory-building deeper and more rewarding, while keeping the core simplicity you already know.

Here’s a first preview of what’s new:

  • More Goals – Clearer progression and more meaningful objectives to work toward.

  • Improved Shape Recognition – Upgraded detection systems enable more complex and interesting production challenges.

  • Throughput System (NEW) – Production efficiency now matters more than ever. Reach certain throughput thresholds to unlock bonuses:

– Maintain high output to gain multipliers (e.g. 1.25x or 1.5x on goal shapes) – Some objectives now require a minimum throughput per minute to complete

This encourages optimized layouts, stable production lines, and high-efficiency builds.

  • District System (NEW Core Feature) – Factories can now be built around specialized machine districts that provide buffs and bonuses. This allows you to create focused production zones like:

– Cutter Stations for efficient slicing pipelines – Coloring / Painter districts for optimized dye production – Dedicated processing hubs for specific tasks

Instead of one generic factory, you can now design specialized, optimized production lines that work together.

  • New Machines – Additional automation tools are joining your production line, including:

– Type Sorters for precise routing – Feedback Balancers enabling loop-based systems

This opens the door to self-regulating factories, advanced routing, and scalable setups.

  • New ModeFactory Mode – The current experience will become Arcade Mode, while a brand-new Factory Mode introduces a more structured, progression-driven way to play.

This update expands your possibilities—especially when it comes to building specialized factories and optimizing layouts—without sacrificing the intuitive building experience.

More details soon. For now—get ready to experiment, optimize… and break your factories in entirely new ways.
