changedI've been monitoring issues, and happy to report that there aren't many! And no big ones like obvious softlocks or frequent crashes. That's excellent! But there's still some minor things to fix. There always are. And this patch does just that. Nothing fundamental, just a bit of polish.
changedSlightly improved onboarding (shuffled some tutorial text around)
addedAdded first-time message when the Dawn starts healing
addedAdded first-time message for trying to heal while cursed
addedAdded small visual/SFX for insta-tracing Runes (yes you can unlock that, no I won't tell you how)
addedAdded a map icon for the final boss

First off, massive Thank You! to everyone playing. Reception so far seems to be positive. Be sure to tell other users via a Steam Review - but I won't bother you with it too much, take your time to beat the game first!

I've been monitoring issues, and happy to report that there aren't many! And no big ones like obvious softlocks or frequent crashes. That's excellent! But there's still some minor things to fix. There always are. And this patch does just that. Nothing fundamental, just a bit of polish.

I'm taking it easy right now, but any feedback is always welcomed. You know where to find me. Good luck!

General

  • Slightly improved onboarding (shuffled some tutorial text around)

  • Added first-time message when the Dawn starts healing

  • Added first-time message for trying to heal while cursed

  • Added small visual/SFX for insta-tracing Runes (yes you can unlock that, no I won't tell you how)

  • Made some small changes in Voidlog entries for clarity

  • Clarified Evisceration and Coalescence sigil descriptions

  • The 8-statue room now reminds you of the Voidlog, if you have the code

  • Added a map icon for the final boss

  • Added some small easter eggs to the escape sequence

Balancing

  • Slash can now hit a maximum of 2 enemies per projectile. This makes it worse on hordes.

  • Fireball now has +50% base explosion range. This makes it better on hordes. Hm...

  • Dash now has a bit less range. It wasn't meant to go THAT far...

    • Dashing with the Dynamic sigil is unaffected.

  • Dawn now heals more aggressively (as a reminder, you should never let it heal!)

  • Slightly reduced health from all Wayward Point enemies

  • Made Frost Geomancer attack faster

  • Slightly reduced Gold Statue orbit speed

  • Made it easier to find the third and fourth secret enemy

Bugfixes

  • You can no longer interact with Vaults and any signs if there are enemies in the room

  • Reduced SFX level of destroying Void Spikes

  • Proscribed Books no longer render a moving hint text

  • Toolboxes and Reactors now properly reset when hitting a campfire in the same room

  • Frozen Statues can no longer assemble

  • Some boss animations remained if you died

  • The book storage no longer allows you to read "ghost books" (books you hadn't collected yet)

  • Core Surge would unfreeze enemies during the escape sequence

  • Title "works better with controller" text no longer appears on Steam Deck
