Moulder DEMO 1.8 Patch
This version adds a new intro and fixes some Pillbug issues introduced with the last patch (oops).
If you do not wish to replay the game, here's a video of the new intro: https://youtu.be/ojuSgqTsRKg
THIS PATCH WILL RESET YOUR SAVE FILE!
CHANGES:
GAMEPLAY:
Pillbugs now remain suspended in midair for a shorter amount of time and cause stagger buildup even if they don't hit the head of a large monster, albeit at a reduced rate.
Air dashing now also causes maggots to briefly resist shake-offs, just like rolling.
Interacting with things is now easier.
Some mission-related stats (best time, number of completions) are now visible in the mission select screen.
MISCELLANEOUS:
The intro cutscene has been completely remade.
Signs have been re-drawn to be more visible.
The tutorial has been tweaked; more gates have been added to ensure that certain mechanics are learned. The text is more thorough.
Added a new UI element showing how many times the player can spawn maggots.
Added a "remaining time" display.
The radar now updates once every two seconds instead of thirty times a second. This is a major downgrade to its function, but it should greatly improve performance until I find a better solution.
The pillbug sound effect for a strong impact has been changed to a less annoying sound.
The game now has a small amount of sound feedback for certain held actions (throwing maggots, holding the "special" button to use trinkets / spawn maggots).
The minimum amount of damage that can be displayed as a damage number has been lowered from 10 to 5.
Projectiles, damage numbers and maggot bite effects should now be more performant.
"Sensitivity" option renamed to "Look Sensitivity".
A number of changes have been made to keybinds. Now controller keybinds should display with more intuitive names; it's now possible to reset your keybinds. Now the "UI Back" button (default: B on controller) should reliably get you out of menus.
The pause menu is now mapped to "Start" on controller rather than on "Select." See additional note below.
Added a jumping and landing animation for Leuce. This has no gameplay effects.
Maggots now violently burst out of the enemy when landing a fully charged heavy attack. This might have minor gameplay effects but is, for the most part, a cosmetic change.
BUG FIXES:
Pillbugs can now be thrown without issue.
Fixed navigation code that caused taller enemies to get stuck on slopes. As a result of this fix properly aligning their velocity vector, all enemies will now be very slightly faster.
IMPORTANT!!!
Keybind changes will NOT happen automatically when updating. It's recommended that you navigate to the settings and reset your keybinds.
If your save file corrupts as a result of this update, reset it using the "RESET SAVE" button in the Accessibility settings. Also leave a comment / community post to let me know, please.
