Inside the Lore of Monster Chef // Dev Diaries

Hi to all Chef Warriors and Innkeepers!

While we are working on a HUGE demo update, built on all the feedback we’ve collected over the past months, we wanted to answer some questions about the game’s lore.

Since many of you have been asking about Monster Chef’s characters and setting, here is an in-depth presentation of Pranzo Giusto Gusto, Spuntino, and Solo Buon Cibo, enriched with additional details that reveal their relationships as well as parts of their past.

Pranzo Giusto Gusto

The player’s avatar, Pranzo is a promising young apprentice hellbent on climbing the Monster Chef Order’s hierarchy and earning a place among its legends. Nurtured by Solo Buon Cibo, a renowned member of the Order, Pranzo grew up on tales of past Monster Chefs, depicted as heroes who saved the world of Delizia from starvation.

Determined to follow in their footsteps, they finally proved themselves worthy of earning the keys to an inn and beginning their journey toward becoming a true Monster Chef. Brave and cheerful, they are nonetheless a bit engenue.

Pranzo’s squire, Spuntino, is a joyful Human boy sent by the Monster Chef Order to help the protagonist with everyday tasks: he tends the Inn during the day, welcomes important guests, and provides all kinds of useful tools.

Terrified of spiders and with a deep love for cookies, Spuntino sincerely admires Pranzo but sometimes wishes he could be the protagonist of his own story.

Solo Buon Cibo

A famous and honorable Monster Chef, Solo Buon Cibo is Pranzo’s tutor since forever. Known also as The Wandering Monster Chef, they are the only present day Monster Chef not bound to an inn, travelling far and wide in the lands of Delizia to bring their prowess in cooking and monster hunting wherever it’s needed. During these travels, they and Pranzo faced several threats and adventures, forging a strong bond that the two rarely express with words.

Often forgetful despite their stiff manners, some whisper that they wander because they cannot remember the whereabouts of their original Inn.
