addedMiuratale Overhaul pt.3This next update is pretty exciting, as it's time to get a taste of the new 3D combat system! Not only that, but a new playable character, Cess, will be introducing it. Keena takes a back seat during this stage, as she's far too afraid to take on enemies at this point, one of the many narrative related changes coming to the game with the overhaul.
changedMiuratale Overhaul pt.3When entering combat enemies spawn in groups, with a fairly large range to tackle them with. If the player retreats far enough, they will despawn, and the battle will reset. Ensuring that important battles cannot be skipped or cheesed. The game's camera automatically locks on to your target, allowing you to freely orbit around them and place your shots or dodge.
addedMiuratale Overhaul pt.3I may need to add more indicators of where enemies are around you, pull the camera back, and give more indicators when you're in danger... This will be a learning process, based on first hand experience and testing. With these first few encounters the enemies are easily vanquished, so it's not the best time yet to determine what all is needed. Cess's regular attack is quite powerful, and her beam bomb can wipe out multiple enemies in one shot, if they're close enough together, that is. Worry not, the challenge will be coming soon.
addedMiuratale Overhaul pt.3A variety of small changes and additions were also made, to make finding ingredients easier, as well as new treasure chests that contain a selection of loot. As the levels are now much larger than they were in 2D, there's a lot more room for exploration and discovery.
addedMiuratale Overhaul pt.3One negative I'm noticing, and will be investigating, is an issue with the atmospherics... It's only happening in the build, so I have to do some digging to find out why that is. It's not game breaking by any means, but it does remove the underwater fog, which is kind of integral to the new look.
fixedMiuratale Overhaul pt.3I do want to add, that after each chapter I will be going back and patching, tweaking, and improving things from the prior updates. So issues like this will be addressed soon. This allows me to make forward progress, and not get too hung up on small issues, while still addressing them in fairly timely fasion.

The next update will further add to the combat system and introduce another new playable character, who will be getting extra content in the future as well. The story follows Keena, but her allies have an important role in the events of the story, and I want to flesh them out and tell their story too.
Two more updates until the end of the prologue! I'll also be releasing a demo soon-ish, it will include the Kelp forest level, up to the Selkie boss fight, to give players a proper chunk of gameplay to try out the new version of the game.
