changedMiuratale Overhaul pt.2This next update is fairly small, but introduces the next stage : the Faewell Vents area. Alongside several minigames, a dolphin mount, and the next piece of story content. This small but sweet update gets us a little closer to the end of the game's prologue.
addedMiuratale Overhaul pt.2In the background I have been testing out the new combat system, which you will get a taste of in the next update : the Mangled Caves! This area will allow the player to try out the new combat system as Cess, as she leads Keena through the sketchy caves in search of a 'cool shark'. Pulling Keena out of the players control is part of many small changes happening to help with story and character building. Keena is no warrior right now, and Cess is, so we'll give players a taste of new characters and how they control.
addedMiuratale Overhaul pt.2Introducing mounts is a relatively new idea, mostly to help the player's early game quickness, so they don't have to slow swim everywhere, that said, I do want to have optional mounts found throughout the game, from dolphins to manta rays. Perhaps they can be used to access secret areas? I'll definitely think about potential uses to help give the game more character in the future. The above video showcases the goofy nonsense that happens when I move to fast and don't double check everything. The dolphin's physics were missing constraints and thus started spinning wildly which gained insane speed. Fun stuff!

Just over a week to get this update out! If I can keep up this pace I should be able to get the whole game done pretty quick this year, but there are challenges upcoming, including redoing cutscenes, that may slow things down. I'm still expecting an early 2027 final release right now.

Thank you for reading! Please consider wishlisting and sharing the game to help spread the word about this mermaid adventure! -DevDre
