This update brings the beta of Ranked Mode, a points-based leaderboard tracking player performance across matches on official servers. It's similar to ranked systems in other games like CS2/chess ELO etc, where you gain more points for performing well against high-ranked opponents, but with a higher emphasis on individual performance vs team wins or losses. W/L plays a small factor the points calculations, but the main emphasis is on KDR and score (currently it's a 1/1/0.4 split between score/KDR/win-or-loss). This allows for bots to be included; bots on ranked servers are configured to have varying skill levels (1-9), and the lower skill bots typically have very low ranks -- hopefully this will make farming more difficult.
We're still twiddling knobs calibrating the algorithm, so during beta you may see your points change quite drastically. In fact, it's been running in the background over the past couple of weeks, and if you've been playing in that time you might already have a rank. https://stats.militaryconflictvietnam.com/ has public leaderboards and a history of all your matches, so you can look there and see how your points have been changed by each match. You can also view this in the new in-game "Ranked" tab in the Personal menu, as well as at the end of matches.
To participate in ranked matches, just play on servers with the "Ranked" check in the server browser. Please let us know what you think in our Discord as we continue to test!
