MidKnight Story Demo – Update v1.045
Hello everyone!
A new update for the MidKnight Story demo (v1.045) is now live on Steam! This version focuses on polish, bug fixes, and smoother gameplay flow.
What’s New
New stopping animations – more realistic, smoother, and precise for both run and sprint.
Improved chest interaction – easier to trigger thanks to better stopping animations, wider interaction areas, and refined chest collision.
Movement improvements – dodges are easier and more frequent, while running turn animations appear only when they should.
Combat flow – Paran reacts much faster when damaged, keeping combat more fluid.
Exploration – smoother transitions for better traversal flow.
Visual updates – new shoes, pants, backpack, hairstyle, and goggles!
Clothes feature better rigging and textures.
Backpack is now fully rigged to the character with improved loot animations.
The new goggles will play a role in the next update, introducing a radar system to detect climbable ledges and points of interest.
Improved IK system – more natural pelvis rotation across animations + polished animations (like reload when not aiming).
UI refinements – small quality-of-life tweaks for keyboard users.
Bug fixes – e.g. fixed the camera intersecting sandy landscapes and showing what was beneath the level.
Coming in September
New shirt and jacket for Paran.
Further UI improvements.
Expanded combat polish, focusing on execution mechanics.
The new radar system via goggles for clearer exploration and climbing.
After the September update, I’ll finally be ready to reveal new content I’ve been working on in the background — stay tuned!
Thanks for playing and for all your feedback! — Mattia
