addedWhile this update is focussed on fixes, we still have a lot of new content to add as Early Access progresses. We teased a few details in our previous post , and we have even more ideas up our sleeves after that.
addedSome of our favourite features added to Mars Attracts since we entered Early Access have come about from user suggestions, and we want to add even more of the features that you - our players - want to see!
fixedCrash Bug - A visual effect added to the Entertainment torture device in the most recent patch had the nasty side effect of causing some players to experience a crash. This has now been resolved.
fixedGuest No Shows - Martian guests can be temperamental at the best of times, but we never meant for them to stop coming to your park entirely. A bug which prevented guests from spawning after launching certain maps has now been fixed.
changedSpecial Character Mission Objectives/ Rewards - Our fussy board of management seemed to develop some nasty habits in the latest patch, with some objectives in their missions not registering as complete when the criteria were met, or with the appropriate reward not being issued on completion. We have given them a stern talking to, and they won’t do it again.

Finally, a quick request – if you have been enjoying Mars Attracts, please consider leaving a positive review on Steam. These reviews are crucial to visibility, and every one helps the game reach a wider audience!

Changes in this update:

  • Crash Bug - A visual effect added to the Entertainment torture device in the most recent patch had the nasty side effect of causing some players to experience a crash. This has now been resolved.

  • Guest No Shows - Martian guests can be temperamental at the best of times, but we never meant for them to stop coming to your park entirely. A bug which prevented guests from spawning after launching certain maps has now been fixed.

  • Human Escapes - Some users reported an issue where Vikings were escaping constantly, regardless of their happiness levels. This was actually related to a bug with the Viking archery range, which is now once again working as intended.

  • Special Character Mission Objectives/ Rewards - Our fussy board of management seemed to develop some nasty habits in the latest patch, with some objectives in their missions not registering as complete when the criteria were met, or with the appropriate reward not being issued on completion. We have given them a stern talking to, and they won’t do it again.

  • Save/Load issues - A number of users reported issues with older saves not loading, or with saves created upon starting a new map before constructing any builds being corrupted. This should no longer be a problem.

This small beam effect was causing crashes for some players. The price you pay for vaporizing humans!

That’s about it for our latest patch. Alongside added new features we will continue to address issues as they arise, so if you’ve spotted something please do let us know!

Love,

Bernard & the Outlier team
