But that’s not all. We have lots more to come, starting with our latest update overhauling how optional missions and special character approvals work.

What's New?

Mission Overhaul

We have added a much greater variety of optional missions. We have reworked those missions that players identified as uninteresting, or too much of a chore to complete

Not only that, but we have greatly expanded the number of optional missions, with all new objectives that challenge the player to engage more fully with game systems, and provide guidance towards building the ultimate high-rated park.

Improved Special Character Interaction

Like optional missions, the park visits carried out by special characters now have a greater variety of objectives to make this system more interesting to engage with. We have also tweaked how approval works to make earning approval points less of a grind.

To let you get a better sense of how this all works, we have added a new screen to keep track of all of the special characters you have met, and their approval levels.

You may notice that one of the characters listed here hasn’t appeared in our game yet, but we will be unveiling this character alongside a new map later in the year.

Updated Rewards

Missions aren't too much fun if you aren’t receiving a reward, so we have given mission rewards an upgrade too.

We have added a whole load of new rewards to missions, including unlockable staff traits and decor upgrades, which have both been improved to have more impact on the game as a whole.

We have a new rewards tab in the missions screen too so you can keep track of what you’ve earned, and get a sense of what you still have to unlock.

SFX 2.0

We have given the atmospheric sound effects of Mars Attracts a big overhaul with this latest patch. We have added new sounds for humans, martians, park buildings as well as additions to the general ambience of your parks in order to help them feel more alive.

Seasonal Decor - St Patrick's Day

On a final note, we have also added another new time-limited decor set, this time with a distinctly Irish flavour.

As with our Christmas and Halloween themed sets, these will remain permanently available for those who have purchased our Supporter’s Edition.

Hope you enjoy! As ever, let us know what you think or come and chat to us on Discord.

Love,

Paul & the Outlier team
