MAJOR UPDATE Blueprints, Logic Refactors & Modding Prep!
Hi everyone!
We’re finally back with a Lifecraft update! First off, we want to apologize for the silence recently. We haven’t updated the game for some months because Silvio (XsX) had some serious personal family issues that slowed down development. While these issues are still present, work has fully resumed, and we’re eager to share the recent updates with you.
This update brings the long-awaited Blueprint system, a complete overhaul of transport logic (both intra and extracellular), and prepares the ground for modding.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤ
BLUEPRINTS & LABELS
We have implemented the Blueprint System. You can now create blueprints of your structures and share them with friends via a clipboard string. In Survival mode, you can use diffusers and dispatchers to construct these blueprints automatically, or simply place them freely to plan your layout. We’ve also added a Label Plate structure, allowing you to place icons on the map to organize your organism better.

PATHWAYS & GAME GUIDE
We are working on making the learning curve smoother. Pathways are now hoverable and include the game guide directly. However, while we aren't completely satisfied with the current implementation yet, we'll try to unify these systems and find an overall usable solution in the upcoming updates.

LOGIC & CONSISTENCY
We’ve improved the item routing logic to make it predictable and precise.
Items moving on microtubules now have priority over pickers trying to drop items.
Pickers trying to fetch an item have priority over letting the item pass by. This ensures resources flow consistently without unexpected behaviors.
ㅤ
ㅤ
EXTRACELLULAR & BALANCE
Extracellular building management has been updated, with vessels now occupying less space. We also adjusted the early game pacing: the delay before the first wandering bacteria appears has been increased from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Additionally, we’ve added a Casual Mode and a Transporter/Enzyme Mode (unlocking units without crafting) to offer different ways to play.
Under the hood, we’ve also implemented core functions to support basic custom mods soon.
