New Character Class: Rogue

When creating a new character, you’ll now be able to select the Rogue class. The Rogue is a dexterity-based melee fighter, focusing on fast attacks and avoiding hits. The Rogue has unique Core, Empower and Defensive Abilities which you can select from. Additionally, the Rogue has access to the following armour types:

  • Dexterity

  • Strength/Dexterity

  • Dexterity/Intelligence

Additionally, the Rogue has access to Swords, Daggers and Shields.

Items

  • Daggers are a new weapon type exclusive to the Rogue. Daggers have an implicit chance to deal a Critical Strike, and have lower damage but faster attack speed.

  • Dexterity/Intelligence equipment is a new type of equipment that can drop for Rogues. Dexterity/Intelligence equipment can roll both Evasion and Energy Shield modifiers.

  • As part of some itemisation changes, helmets can no longer drop at level 11.

Character Customisation

New gender options have been added to character creation.

Balance Changes

  • The Evasion formula has been adjusted so Evasion is more impactful.

  • To compensate, Enemy Evasion growth has been reduced by 30%.

  • Maximum Cooldown Recovery Rate: 35% -> 25%

Passive Changes

The Serpent

  • Twin FangsHas been renamed to Envenom. Envenom no longer grants increased Critical Strike Rating. Envenom now grants: Convert 10% of Physical Damage to Nature Damage.
  • Blooming Wake: Physical to Nature Conversion: 50% -> 25%

  • Deadly PrecisionIncreased Critical Strike Rating: 4% -> 5%

The Eagle

  • Expose WeaknessNo longer grants increased Critical Strike Rating. Expose Weakness now grants: +1% to Critical Strike Chance.
  • HarrierNo longer grants increased Accuracy Rating. Harrier now grants: 2% increased Critical Strike Rating.
  • Keen EyeIncreased Accuracy Rating: 4% -> 6%

Status Effects

To prevent double-dipping, damaging status effects (such as Bleed or Shock) can no longer Critically Strike.

Chill

Chill effect is now based on Cold Damage dealt by a hit, instead of being a static 20% effect. Chill effect, by default, is now equal to 50% of Freeze Build Up inflicted by the hit. For example, if a hit inflicted 30% Freeze Build Up, and if that hit were to also Chill, it would inflict a 15% Chill.

To compensate for these changes, enemies now have an implicit 750% increased Chill Effect. Note: this should still be significantly weaker than the old static 20% Chill effect.

  • Bosses now have 50% less Maximum Freeze Threshold to make Freezing them significantly easier.

  • Bosses now implicitly have 500% increased Chill Effect on Them, meaning that, Chills inflicted against Bosses are 500% stronger.

Shock

Shock damage is now based on 35% of the total Lightning Damage dealt from hits instead of being based on your Lightning Damage stat, meaning that a Shock inflicted by a Critical Strike will deal more base damage. Shock damage is now displayed on the Character Sheet.

Local Enemy Modifiers

  • Ice Touched: Chance to Chill: 5% -> 25%

  • Lightning Touched: Chance to Shock: 5% -> 25%

Dungeon

Shrines can now spawn in dungeons again.

Miscellaneous Changes

  • The visuals of the minimap have been simplified. The new visuals are clearer and should improve performance for some users.

  • Hit feedback has been improved. Basic Attacks have more screen shake, and Basic Attacks have had various audio adjustments.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug that caused Glyph modifiers to not apply properly when loading a character.

  • Fixed a bug where Damage over Time values weren’t being calculated correctly when some damage was converted.

  • Fixed various UI bugs.

Known Issues

  • Ranged enemies aren’t chasing the player while in range.

Closing Words

So that is everything for patch 0.0.10 for Legends of Azamar! For larger patches like this, you can probably expect them to take at least a month (sometimes even a lot longer). But with that said, if you play the new Rogue class and have any thoughts or feedback, please let me know!

Have fun!
