The following is a list of patch notes and bug fixes for Kristala Version 1.0.9
Patch Update – Combat Balance Improvements, Enemy Behavior Adjustments, and System Fixes Now Live
This update introduces combat balance improvements across weapon enchantments, status effects, and enemy stagger behavior, alongside refinements to traversal interactions, Undead Ally summoning reliability, Talent and Stat Respec functionality, and several progression-related fixes. Additional lighting, control options, and equipment behavior updates are also included as we continue improving overall gameplay consistency and responsiveness based on player feedback.
Gameplay, Combat & Traversal Improvements
Made minor traversal improvements in Myr to improve movement flow and navigation reliability
Adjusted weapon enchantment scaling for Sword & Shield and Greatswords to improve effectiveness relative to Claws
Increased effectiveness of weapon enchantments
Adjusted inherent weapon status buildup for improved balance across weapon types
Increased effectiveness of the Freeze status effect
Disabled Poise damage buildup during an active stagger state to prevent unintended chain-staggering
Added active Poise to several larger enemies to improve stagger behavior consistency
Adjusted attack conditions for Kota Large and Kota Large Undead enemies so abilities trigger more appropriately
Improved hit registration for Kota Large enemy attacks to increase combat consistency
Adjusted enemy damage values across multiple attacks to reduce unintended edge-case difficulty spikes
Most unblockable attacks now stagger enemies when successfully deflected, increasing the reward for high-risk defensive play
Fixed an issue where enemies could unintentionally slide on icy surfaces
Fixed an issue where healing effects could sometimes damage the player instead of restoring health
Fixed an issue where players could be knocked off ladders when taking status effect damage
Fixed inconsistencies in rope pulley landing direction
Summoning Improvements
Improved spawning reliability of the Undead Ally
Added a notification when the player cannot summon an Undead Ally
Talents & Respec System Improvements
Fixed an issue where using Forget Talents did not return all required items to the player
Added a message prompt for Talents that cannot be forgotten
Added an icon indicator to highlight Talents that can be upgraded
Fixed an issue where Talent upgrade descriptions did not correctly display the next-tier preview after selecting another Talent first
Fixed various issues related to Stat Respec behavior to improve reliability and consistency
Quest & Progression Fixes
Added ingredient hint prompts to the Something Wicked quest to improve objective clarity
Fixed an issue that could block progression in The Proving – Myr Pt. 2 during the four-lever bars puzzle
Controls Improvements
Added an option to invert horizontal camera movement in the control settings
Fixed an issue where mouse camera sensitivity changes were not saved correctly
World & Environment Improvements
Adjusted Tandar Castle lighting brightness for improved visual clarity
Fixed multiple collision and traversal issues across several areas
UI, Items & Equipment Menu Fixes
Fixed an issue where certain capes appeared visually broken in the Preparation menu
Fixed an issue where Rubinus’ Ring effects only applied after interacting with a Font
Improved Preparation menu character lighting for consistent appearance across all levels
