The following is a list of patch notes and bug fixes for Kristala Version 1.0.8

Patch Update – Global Poise Rebalance, Combat Improvements, and Progression Fixes Now Live

This update restores and expands recent combat improvements—including a global enemy Poise rebalance—alongside fixes for progression blockers, stat calculation issues, traversal interactions, UI behavior, and environmental collision across multiple areas of the game. Additional audio refinements and localization fixes are also included as we continue improving gameplay consistency and responsiveness based on player feedback.

Gameplay, Combat & Traversal Improvements

  • Fixed an issue where enemy Poise values were not updating as intended

  • Reworked enemy Poise across all enemies and bosses so staggering feels more intuitive and aggressive combat is more rewarding

  • Adjusted heavy attacks across all weapon types so they can be properly charged, improving responsiveness and impact

  • Fixed an issue where Greatsword heavy attacks could unintentionally trigger certain spells or skills

  • Increased stagger windows for Kota Rangers, Kota Ravagers, and Kota Assassins to encourage counterattack opportunities

  • Corrected Mana costs for channeling and charged spells

  • Reduced Raise Undead Mana cost from 80 to 60 and cooldown from 60 seconds to 45 seconds

  • Fixed inconsistencies when interacting with rope pulleys

  • Improved camera behavior while using rope pulleys

  • Improved knockback logic to prevent players from becoming stuck inside collision during combat interactions

  • Fixed an issue where switching to a Loadout containing a Talisman could cause the player to enter Unarmed Stance instead of the equipped weapon stance

  • Fixed an issue where item stat modifiers were not properly reapplied after a stat respec, causing incorrect attribute values when unequipping equipment

  • Adjusted Greatsword parry counter timing to feel more rewarding and easier to land

Boss Encounter Improvements

  • Added a Jump Slam attack to the Rhylotha boss encounter to improve gap-closing behavior

  • Introduced additional melee combo variations to the Rhylotha boss encounter for increased combat variety

Quest & Progression Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that could prevent progression in The Proving – Part 2 after completing the Find the Missing Piece objective

  • Fixed an issue preventing progression in Zazagrul’s questline if players had not spoken to Atreus Stone after interacting with Ursul

  • Fixed an issue that could prevent progression in Zazagrul’s questline by blocking interaction with her cauldron

  • Added a progression barrier in the forest to prevent advancing before starting the Something Wicked quest

  • Players previously stuck in Something Wicked can now return to Zazagrul’s original location and speak with her to continue progression

  • Fixed an issue where quest progression could carry over between save files when playing within the same session; we'll continue to retroactively address affected saves where possible—please let us know if any progression issues persist

Rune & Status Effect Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where Vigilant Runes did not remove their effect until the game was reloaded

  • Fixed an issue where Vigilant Runes effects did not appear correctly in the character status UI

World & Environment Fixes

  • Fixed multiple collision issues across several levels

UI & Equipment Menu Fixes

  • Fixed navigation issues in the Preparation Spells menu

  • Removed unused features from the Preparation and Equipment menus

  • Fixed a text display issue affecting mana cost reduction descriptions in the spell tree

  • Fixed an issue where spell tutorial video audio continued playing until entering a loading screen in the Character Creation menu
