Kalyskah changes
Just passing by to give you a quick update about the game!
We have been working tirelessly to address many of the issues you've reported regarding gameplay and quests. At the end of the day, this is the purpose of our Demo being released here, and this is why we have changed the release date sometimes, so we can be adamant that from day 1 of Early Access, you'll have a great experience.
We are hearing you, and the Combat will be Reworked!
There's no easy way to say it: Our combat needs a lot of improvement. And to do so, we are going to revise it so that the programming is done from scratch, and the animations are reused and repurposed. The core of the idea will stay the same, and we will make another post diving deep into it on a future date.
The goal is to fix a lot of the 'floatness' that people have mentioned over the years and add new mechanics such as a "combat flow" where the more you land your attacks without getting hit, the faster Kalyskah will be and also the more damage she'll cause. This process requires multiple steps, and even though we have already started, I don't expect it to be fully complete until the end of February or March. So we'll break the implementation into smaller milestones to release patches to gather your feedback.
Companion quests!
Following the "Playable Companion" milestone of our wishlist campaign, and the revisions we aim to make in the combat, it's time for us to start testing the waters with this feature as well!
So the first two characters we are choosing to make playable companions are Merishya, Ilreth and Nemesis. Where Ilreth will be playable on the prologue, and Nemesis might have something to do after the prologue. For Merishya, we might make it so that you can choose to play as her to go to the goblin cave, and Nemesis... we're still figuring out if we'll make a quest of her during the prologue or after the prologue era. Check out how well the Succubus and the Elf get along!
Crime And Notoriety System
We are working on a village in the open world. And to really play in the fantasy of being a vampire, the world must react to Kalyskah's actions. Such as citizens running away scared when she's too overtly known as a monster. Or being able to negotiate with the guards to make them look away when she commits a crime, be it with bribery, sorcery or seduction.
We'll be making a video explaining these mechanics to you soon!
Check out these variations of the image we posted below because they might make for nice wallpapers!
