🏆 Your Legendary Warriors Immortalised
After each Rogue run, the best unit (by XP, level, and kills or heals) can be saved to the Hall of Fame. Dead units are now properly enshrined. Even in death, they are remembered.
⌨️ Full Keyboard Controls – No More Mouse
Command your entire company without ever touching the mouse.
Tab to cycle. Arrow keys to move. A to attack. H to heal. E to end turn. B for your bag. Enter to confirm. Escape to cancel.
⚔️ Rogue Difficulty – Choose Your Punishment
Super Easy to Super Hard now directly impacts how quickly enemies scale. Enemy count, XP, and loot remain unchanged – only the strength of your foes.
🎒 The Rogue's Bag
Items litter the battlefield every three depths. Your bag holds five items. Choose wisely. Seventeen items across four rarity tiers. Rarer items appear the deeper you go.
📋 Battle Log – Clearer Than Ever
Injuries now appear in bold yellow. Attack messages now read correctly: low roll = miss, high roll = hit. Other colours standardised. You can finally see where you went wrong.
🌫️ The Fog of War Descends
The deeper you go, the harder it is to see. Fog now stalks the Rogue depths, thickening as you descend. At depth 40, a 20% chance. By depth 90, nearly half your runs will be shrouded. Vision drops to 3 tiles.
Trust your ears. Trust your steel. Trust nothing else.
🎭 Over 12 Million Name Combinations
Hundreds of new first names, last names, and titles. Your warriors will carry names you've never seen before, and may never see again.
🧠 Smarter Enemies
Bosses, knights, and archers now scan the battlefield for the best route. They remember who they're hunting. Fallback movement means they never freeze. They always press forward.
🌑 Atmosphere & Polish
Blood splats stain the ground where a unit dies. Seven variants. Fades over four turns.
The grid shakes on critical hits.
Gremlins squeal when killed.
Over 50 death quotes for fallen units.
The enemy village icon now looks properly evil.
Live leaderboard position after each depth.
Weighted enemy variance – sometimes fewer, sometimes more.
Rogue bosses now spawn at full health (no more free kills. Sorry.)
Save protection – your old run won't be overwritten.
🖥️ UI & Quality of Life
Selected Unit panel redesigned. XP display now shows the value to level up.
Button text no longer wraps. Keyboard shortcuts now appear as underlines – much neater.
Toggle full screen in Settings.
Rogue‑specific tavern tips – a new tip every level.
Tavern tip fixed when loading a saved campaign.
Tutorial improved.
Enemy counter shows units still to move – especially useful in fog.
