WHAT'S NEW IN v1.60

🛡️ FOUR NEW UNITS JOIN THE ROSTER

The Ironlands welcome a fresh wave of warriors, each bringing unique tactical options to the battlefield.

  • PALADIN – Holy Warrior

"The light guides my hand. Once per battle, they also mend."

A formidable front-line fighter with a single, powerful heal per battle. The Paladin combines respectable damage with a powerful burst of healing that can turn the tide when used wisely. Unlike the Mage, the Paladin fights and heals, but their healing is a once-per-battle. Choose the moment carefully.

  • TREBUCHET – Siege Engine

"One shot. Make it count."

Slow, deliberate, and devastating. The Trebuchet brings siege-level firepower to the battlefield. Their attack has a longer range and deals more damage than the Archer's, but they're limited to one attack and one move per turn, demanding careful positioning. But when it hits, the enemy knows about it.

  • WOLF – Feral Hunter

"The pack is gone. The hunt remains."

Swift, relentless, and utterly without fear. The Wolf moves with savage speed and attacks up to 3 times per turn. The Wolf is a disruptive force that breaks enemy formations and punishes poor positioning. Runs rings around the enemy… literally.

  • GEOMANCER – Terrain Shaper

"The earth remembers. I merely remind it."

The Geomancer does not fight – they reshape the battlefield itself. Creating forests, mountains, swamps, mountain passes, and even water, they control the terrain to funnel enemies, create choke points, or deny ground entirely. Unlock new terrain types as they level up, and reward strategic positioning over brute force.

All four new units are available in both Campaign and Rogue modes, with stats balanced for each. They are not yet available in the versus mode.

🎨 ENHANCED BATTLEFIELD VISUALS

The battlefield now communicates more clearly than ever:

  • Health bars change colour based on remaining HP: green, yellow, orange, and red. The action bar is now cyan, so it doesn't clash. At a glance, you know who needs help.

  • The injury dot is now colour‑coded and changes based on the number of injuries you have. Yellow (1), orange (2), orange‑red (3), red (4), dark red (5+). At a glance, you can see who is carrying wounds that will need attention between battles. The body remembers every scar. Now you can see them too.

  • XP progress bar has been added to the Selected Unit panel so you can see exactly how close your unit is to the next level.

  • Enemy level now appears in the Rogue mid‑depth summary and in the battle log at the start of each depth. Know exactly what you're up against before the first blow lands.

  • 250+ enemy death quotes added. Sometimes grim, darkly humorous, and sometimes absurd. Every kill tells a story.

  • Boss spawn messages are now randomised. Over 60 unique messages to announce your impending doom.

⌨️ QUALITY OF LIFE

  • Units can now be renamed. Click the ✏️ icon next to any unit's name to rename them. Perfect for forging legends, honouring fallen comrades, or just calling your Knight "Sir Stabsalot". Renamed units persist across saves and appear in the Unit Hall of Fame.

  • Heal & attack targets are now prioritised. Your Mage has learned to prioritise their ally most in need of help first based on lowest HP%. Archers show lethal efficiency by targeting the wounded when attacking.

  • Your first unit is Auto‑selected at the beginning of every turn. No more fumbling for Tab to prepare your warrior for battle.

  • Tab follows the order you picked your units in the Rogue company screen. Choose wisely; your first pick leads the charge.

  • Rogue bag overhaul – items now show their rarity (Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary) and the depth they were collected. The bag also got a visual tidy‑up, as no one likes a messy bag.

  • Archers fire two shots per action, increasing their total damage output. They heard there were new units coming and took it personally.

  • Throwing daggers now scale with Mage level and depth. Mages have been learning. They no longer just heal, they also stab. Just got to find one first!

  • More Tavern Tips have been added to subtly help you through each level.

  • Rogue company selection gets two preset buttons: “One of Each (Random Order)” and “Truly Random (Any Mix)”. Start your run faster.

  • Campaign grid scaled up 10% to make the battlefield feel more spacious. Without losing the tactical overview, the battlefield now breathes a little more.

  • Keyboard Improvements:

    • [c]Ctrl+Tab[/c] cycles units backward – replacing [c]Shift+Tab[/c]

    • [c]G[/c] enters Geomancy mode for Geomancers

    • [c]Tab[/c] in Geomancy mode cycles terrain types

The path to glory is now clearer than ever. Gather your company, sharpen your steel, and remember... the Ironlands remember every fallen warrior. See you on the battlefield. ⚔️
