addedLess than a week and we have another update ready! Things have come together so that it is in good shape to be released before we start on the next big update. We have some new art to show off, along with some new features.
changedWe've been working on new art, including different building types for each race. We had intended for some of it to be in the last update, but it still needed some work. Even now, it is still a work in progress, but has at least reached a point where we can start to show where we are headed. The first of the new home styles are for the Slimes. Slime towns will now have Slime Burrows, as well as wooden buildings. Businesses, especially inns and other places travelers may visit, will be made to support other races as well as Slimes.
addedYour party will mainly be traveling through the center of town, in typically commercial areas. The new art is mainly for residential buildings. In order to show them off, we have adjusted the Show Town button to zoom out further. It will not show the entire town, but is meant to show the center of town, including areas beyond the main road through. The Show Town button is at the top left of the Town UI that you see listing the places in town that you can interact with.
changedWe have also updated the Inventory UI, specifically the bottom right panel showing the Slime details. Previously, it showed the Slime's Affinities, with a highlight when any of them matched with those of the selected item. Now, it will still show the Affinities when no item is selected. When an item is selected, it will show which abilities that item can be used with. This should help to decide who gets which items.
addedAlong with the visual change, we have also added a new Ability Split transfer option that uses the same information. There is a new button, as well as a hot key combo (Alt middle click) that will perform a Split transfer, but the item stack will only be divided among Slimes that have abilities that can use it. The basic Spit and Eat Healing Item abilities are ignored for this, as between them they can pretty much use all items, which would make this be the same as the base Split if they were included.
changedNext up are Quests. Most of these changes won't actually be visible to players right now, as the Quests they are connected with come later. The Quest Log has had some color changes and a background for the descriptions. Later you will get quests where the Quest Tasks are themselves Quests, with their own Tasks. These are mainly planned to be when a Quest covers multiple towns, with each sub-Quest being connected to a town. The display of these has been improved, nesting the child Quests under the parent.

Next up are Quests.

The Quest panel in the Traders' Depot has also been updated. The name of the town is now an Option Button that lets you select other towns, when there are others with Quests. For now, the demo only has Quests tied to your home town, so this won't be useful. The Tasks are now also buttons. Selecting one of them will add a filter to limit the items shown to only be those related to the Task. This is a separate filter from the one the player can set. Both filters will be applied, so be sure to check any filters you set if you don't see something. Again, this is not really something you will benefit from in the current demo, as your clan can eat anything. We have started adding new Quests that use these features, but they are not ready for the demo yet.

Finally, we have setup an account on Bluesky, and replaced the Facebook button in the game with one pointing to Bluesky.

Next Fest is fast approaching, and we are working to get all the core features in place, along with refining the demo so it is enjoyable and shows them off. We will be continuing to release regular updates as things reach stable points.
