Patch v1.25.13.4b (Beta channel)

Sorry folks, my job and my meds have been killing me hard lately. Lot's of... unexpected monetary things that needed my attention, as well. Like I've been barely existing. Got most of these things done on the weekend.

  • UI and audio
  • Balance
changedThis should also improve controller compatibility in general.
addedSomething something, to join to beta test it go to the game's properties settings and pick beta_unstable, keep in mind these changes are work in progress so joining that channel could lead to some bugs and stuff.
addedA music track variation has been added to a certain mission.
addedAdded visual buttons of Attack/Shoot/Style Action/Lock on in the upgrades menu to make it easier to understand the movelist. (Still not as good as showing icons for the actions, but unfortunately that's a bit too late for that with how little time i get to exist.)
changedA few areas got lighting improvements.
addedCan now use Q and E to flip Upgrades pages just like RB and LB on the gamepad.

Sorry folks, my job and my meds have been killing me hard lately. Lot's of... unexpected monetary things that needed my attention, as well.

Anyway, I'm looking into improving Steam Deck support from the feedback I've recieved from the Deck Verification stuff. Most of the changes below are meant to reflect that.

This should also improve controller compatibility in general.

Changelog below:

  • A music track variation has been added to a certain mission.

  • Added visual buttons of Attack/Shoot/Style Action/Lock on in the upgrades menu to make it easier to understand the movelist. (Still not as good as showing icons for the actions, but unfortunately that's a bit too late for that with how little time i get to exist.)

  • A few areas got lighting improvements.

  • Can now use Q and E to flip Upgrades pages just like RB and LB on the gamepad.

  • Corrected occulusion in the tutorial after the recent changes.

  • Cutscenes (...like two of them.) are now showing the correct skip buttons if you are using a gamepad.

  • Dialogues now show the correct keybinding to continue the dialogue instead of it being vague.

  • Fixed a jump pad issue in the tutorial.

  • Fixed buttons not refocusing in the mission start menu if you pressed anywhere else. (It kind of tried to focus on the invisible pause menu. Funny.)

  • Fixed shadows not showing up on some decals.

  • Graphics settings - Resolution settings have been changed to make it easier to change on the gamepad.

  • Hints now properly reflect your currently mapped controls.

  • Minor visual improvements.

  • Most textures have been compressed to reduce storage on disk, because it's getting a bit heavy. Might improve vram usage.

  • Now the hints will switch from mouse and keyboard to gamepad dynamically depending on what was last used.

  • The mouse cursor now properly hides on gamepad use.

  • Tutorial - Added Controller Icons to the tutorial, and reformatted the way tutorial tells you stuff to reflect that.

  • Tutorial - Text now switches in realtime if you switch to gamepad or from gamepad to keyboard.

  • Upgrade menu related button prompts are now also correctly assigned based on whether you use the gamepad or not.

Known issues:

  • Steam deck related - Some text is cutting off, which is related to the text scaling. Looking into it.

  • The level finish time score is still the same for mission 5, 6 and 8, working on it. (Really, I am, I just need TIME when im not working or sleeping)

  • CT orbs are obsolete for traversal, but I am moving them around across levels now. You might see some adjustments already.

  • Since hints now show currently assigned inputs, there's a high chance some of them might've broken. I'll test them properly once I'll get to replaying the game to update the mission timings.
