Gung Beetle changes
New update rolls in with the new year, we've been chasing a couple of weird bugs that popped up when we changed Unity versions but those have been ironed out now. Not to mention we got the file size down again by nearly 100mb!
Balance changes:
Increased the speed boost when moving in the same direction you are aiming from 20% to 60%, it was too subtle and not something that most people would notice.
Decreased mass on all extra large bullets, now they won't incur such a high reload penalty.
Increased damage on most extra large bullet types, it usually wasn't worth the lost clip size to change to XL bullets.
Increased the power of all Hexa Hive cores and bullets, all their cores are burst fire and as a result are a little harder to get working, their factory is also the most expensive so now the trade off is better.
Meta progression:
Added new ways to get stronger, you can now upgrade the holsters base stats as well as unlock the machine grub from the start. You can get crazy strong if you upgrade all the holsters to the max level, might be busted but we'll see how it goes.
Added a cost to unlock new balls.
Added a cost to unlock crate launcher upgrades, also made it so it's easier to see what launcher options are available.
Level generation:
I rewrote how the levels generate off of the level maps so I have more control over how they spawn objects, now I can make more unique maps as well as optimise them waaaaay better. There are now way more maps for each level with greater variation too and making new maps is much easier. Plus more points for ant nests to spawn now too.
Bug Fixes:
Fixed the incoming boss UI to turn off after the boss has been defeated as well as simplifying it to a countdown method.
Fixed cluster grenades causing a crash.
Fixed ant mounds spawning too much golden poop.
Fixed ping pong ball not showing in gun build menu.
Fixed rare crash if playing the tutorial after unlocking certain late game systems.
Fixed Web Warden special gun achievement.
Fixed ability UI not displaying correct information after moving to a new level.
Fixed some localisation issues.
