Gun to the Zone changes
Welcome back! After a lot of work, the latest update is finally released. What's in it? Quite a bit of stuff:
With a Little Help From My (Drone-) Friends
You have a little floating friend around, who will automatically fire at enemies. However, you will not be able to rely on this little friend 100% of the time. It can use all the weapons that are in your inventory. Some weapons are more accurate than others, of course.
Every buff you collect will also buff your little drone-friend. If you focus on fewer weapons, the drone will be more effective, but won't fire as often.
You can turn the drone off, but accessing the settings for the individual arenas in the main menu (right click or Y on the controller). In certain bonus rooms, the drone is deactivated by default.
A Forest
Some of the trees in the game have changed. They appeared pixelated before, now they're a lot more cohesive and fit in with the rest of the graphics.
Easy Now
The game will be easier and more accessible, especially as you first start it. For example, your guns will be a little easier to aim, your special attack will charge faster and you have an additional heart from the start.
You are also able to collect more hearts right from the start. The campaign will also be shorter on lower difficulties.
However, if you want to beat the final boss, you might have to replay levels at higher difficulties. As soon as you've completed one of the levels in the main menu, its default difficulty will automatically go up.
Intergalactic
There is a new gametype in the main menu: In this one, you will be constantly attacked by zombies. There will be no time to relax in this mode. It is pretty fun, especially with a helper drone!
Somewhere Only We Know
There are some new places to explore! Two new levels are accessible in the campaign. The first arena level has also changed. As mentioned before, the new level in the main menu also has a different theme. The old "dark forest" arena is now found in the bonus menu.
There are some new bonus-maps as well. Check em out!
The Long and Winding Road
There are a lot of other changes in this update, check it out for yourself. Or read the changelog below.
For example, there are some new weapon-variants and skins, some polish to menus and other things, as well as A LOT of bugfixes.
The game will get more updates. Contact me if you have suggestions or problems!
Anyway, I'm very grateful that I was able to launch a game on Steam this year! I could not have imagined this a couple of years ago when I started to make games in my spare time. Who knows what the future holds, probably more games though.
