Guards vs Goats changes
Hi there!
Level 4 is done. A news post about it will be posted very soon.
After the demo release and during the time of the Next Fest, I've received some important and precious feedback. At that point, I've decided to work in two dimensions: Add more content and enhance the game. I wanted to make a big enhancement break after finishing level 5. Then, I've got the privilege of watching the lovely Dani Finn which is the voice actress of Lady Drucilla (level 4 and no-spoilers...) and also a streamer, playing the demo and I understood that some key elements in the demo need to be sharpened in order for new players to enjoy it a bit more. So I made a couple (more than a couple) of additions, fixes and tweaks and uploaded Demo version 0.41.
Before proceeding to the details, I would like to thank each and everyone who played the demo and left feedback. Yes, I want this game to succeed, but moreover, I want people to just enjoy it so your feedback is precious to me and to potential players, so thank you! :)
So, What's Inside?
More guard voices.
Two more music tracks.
Added a few more sword hit/whoosh, bow pull/release sound effects.
Different footstep sounds on grass and dirt.
Body hit sounds for chainmail wearing characters and plate wearing character.
Very few combat timing related modifications which made the combat for personally me - more fun. I hope it is not me alone. In any case, more combat and enemy AI enhancements will come in the future.
Stamina drains less on strike. Now you can spam that attack button on 'Timed' mode.
In addition to above, added a small chance to double strike the enemy successfully. If I see this direction picks up, I may add a third combat option "Hack and Slash" where you can fight the enemy like a hack and slash game. Tell me if this is something you prefer.
Made the player sword block direction compatible with the enemy attack direction in 'Timed' mode to make it look more natural.
Removed the invisible blocker in Lord Gerald's throne room. Now you can go behind Lord Gerald and... I don't know...
Added an info box at the first appearance of each mode. You can see two in the demo's two modes: Exploration Mode and Horde Mode.
Added useful tips.
Game starts with the tutorial but you can skip it. Consider playing it if you are not familiar with the game.
In level 1, you start a bit farther and not right next to the tower.
Fixed the wooden sound when William gets hit by an arrow.
UI display of available weapons.
Tapping a weapon number again sheaths that weapon.
Applied the beautiful artwork of Schwarky Art - Johanna Schmidt in the main menu.
Added fall damage.
