If you haven’t tried the demo before, there has never been a better time than now!

This is probably the last massive rework of the Grimdelve demo. There is still some more art to come and likely bug fixes, but this update changes a lot of the core experience that I don’t plan to rework more of. In addition to every change visible in the demo, I have also built an additional hour of content past the demo that will only be available in the full release. Lots more to come and the demo remains a small look at the complete experience. Browse the list of changes below.

  • Added more custom face art! Still a lot of placeholder art but eventually every character will have custom face art

  • Completely reworked trait system, cutting amount of traits in half while making each more impactful on gameplay

  • Revised trait menu to include a graphic representation of each trait (4 placeholder, 4 finished art drawn by my girlfriend!)

  • Added a brand new area and character to Arx! Make sure to take your time exploring

  • Added some parallax mapping to enhance the claustrophobia of the underground

  • Rewrote and added a ton of dialogue

  • Resized the text box and font size

  • Changed how characters thoughts are displayed in text boxes

  • Added NPC idle animations to bring more life to the underground

  • Added unique death animations

  • Improved lighting system

  • Added option to turn off weather effects

  • Added option to disable camera smoothing

  • Hopefully fixed performance and resolution issues

  • Improved cinematic panning

  • Improved text display sounds

  • Added option to skip intro cinematic

  • Renamed Cola to Mora

  • Gave Jaro more trauma and made the outsiders more racist

  • Once again, fixed a ton of bugs and probably accidentally created a few more. Tis the life of indie game dev…
