addedGreetings our fellow Rebels and followers! First of all, we would like to say big thank you to our fans for their long-lasting support and endurance while waiting for a new update. We’re working on a major game update which is taking much longer than we were expecting. When we say major, we mean that we’re on our way to advance GrayZone’s gaming experience.Present mission content was based primarily on action but the update we’re about to give you will not only offer the action but also “stealthing” experience. This will bring a new gaming experience along with collecting rewards in “XP” form. For this, we needed to imply bigger changes on missions such as adding bushes for hiding, adding objects, stones and old trees with the advantages for the player in hiding. These are the changes we made in “stealth“ mode:
changedStealth zones throughout each missionGame itself assists and hints the player on how to pass the mission and therefore earn reward in XP, if he doesn’t trigger an alarm while getting the treasure or accomplishing other tasks.
changedSound visualisationWhile sneaking around, it is very important to remain as silent as you can. If a player doesn’t care about crawling and runs around, this action has a harmful effect for visibility of his forces. If it runs, the sounds are louder which draws the attention of the enemy. This feature is still work in progress.
addedAutomatic looting in close proximityMaking looting easier is a necessity which is why we added a feature of looting everything in close proximity. What the player needs to do is to point on the object of interest. Really useful thing.
changedAutomatic looting in close proximitySome other improvements:
changedOptimization of frame rate and dimensionsWe managed to boost the framerate in each mission. The game is steadier even on older computers. Reducing build size by 3GB made it possible to take up less space on disc.

What’s more, we are starting to write Developer Diaries, which will be an follow up on Roadmap or any other updates to summarize, what we’ve done and what you will see in next updates.

Present mission content was based primarily on action but the update we’re about to give you will not only offer the action but also “stealthing” experience. This will bring a new gaming experience along with collecting rewards in “XP” form. For this, we needed to imply bigger changes on missions such as adding bushes for hiding, adding objects, stones and old trees with the advantages for the player in hiding. These are the changes we made in “stealth“ mode:

Stealth zones throughout each mission

Game itself assists and hints the player on how to pass the mission and therefore earn reward in XP, if he doesn’t trigger an alarm while getting the treasure or accomplishing other tasks.

As we mentioned, the first major asset is collecting XP for each disarmed enemy. Getting more XP is possible if the player doesn’t trigger an alarm while accomplishing the task.

Ability to see where our enemy is looking

To make attack from hiding even easier we included an “enemy’s sight radius” which is switched on automatically or by clicking on the particular enemy.

Sound visualisation

While sneaking around, it is very important to remain as silent as you can. If a player doesn’t care about crawling and runs around, this action has a harmful effect for visibility of his forces. If it runs, the sounds are louder which draws the attention of the enemy. This feature is still work in progress.

Automatic looting in close proximity

Making looting easier is a necessity which is why we added a feature of looting everything in close proximity. What the player needs to do is to point on the object of interest. Really useful thing.

Some other improvements:

Optimization of frame rate and dimensions

We managed to boost the framerate in each mission. The game is steadier even on older computers. Reducing build size by 3GB made it possible to take up less space on disc.

Small non-playable animals in the game.

There was an idea presented to us in one of the feedbacks and we accepted the challenge. In the next build, there will be a handful of small “decorative” animals such as birds, fish, bats, snakes and many more.

In the next dev report we’ll inform you about other changes we’ve made so far but need more time for now. We can mention things like throwing stones to catch the attention of the enemy or even new possibilities such as enhancing skills of players, disarming enemies, new prologue mission and many more. And as for the end, a sneak peek from the new mission.
