It has already been one month since the announcement of the gogh Design Contest 2026!!.

Today,

we are excited to announce the selected works!!!!

A Total of 366 Entries!!!!

For both the Avatar Item Category and the Room Item Category, we received an incredible number of wonderful submissions that far exceeded our expectations.

“I’d love to have an item like this.” “I’d love to see this kind of world in gogh.” “I’d love to work while wearing clothes like these.”

Every submission conveyed thoughts like these, and the entire gogh team found ourselves saying over and over again, “This is really good...” while reviewing all of the entries.

Honestly... if we could... we would love to make all of them...

We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude.

About the Selection Process

First, here are the selection counts and criteria stated in the contest guidelines.

  【Room Item Entries】10 sets (50 items)

• Selection Criteria

  ・Items that the gogh team considers suitable for gogh

  ・Items that are feasible in terms of technical requirements and production workload ・Items that do not violate the contest guidelines

With so many high-quality submissions before us, the first challenge was deciding how to select the winners. Simply ranking the entries was impossible, because every work had its own unique appeal.

After much discussion,

we asked ten team members to make selections based on their own personal perspectives. These included members who regularly create gogh’s CG artwork and illustrations, as well as members who communicate closely with users through social media and the community. Each person selected works that made them think, “I’d love to see this in gogh,” or “This would be fun if it were implemented.”

Afterward, we reviewed the selected works to ensure there were no major technical or production-related obstacles before making the final decisions.

As a result, this year’s selections are not based on simple rankings or scores. Instead, each team member chose the works that appealed to them from their own unique perspective.

Every submission was truly wonderful, and making the final selections was incredibly difficult.

Title: Cyber Suit ~Loaded with Screws~ Creator: Kyapukapu

Selection Comment:

I have always wanted to see more sci-fi-inspired avatar items in gogh. The outerwear and shoes looked versatile enough to mix and match with existing items, making it easy to create a variety of outfits while enhancing the overall sci-fi feel. That’s why I chose this design. I also loved how the large screws looked a little like the fans on an air-conditioned work jacket. I’m also a big fan of Kuroda, the Gogh expert featured in the submission illustration. Very cute.

Selection Comment:

When I imagined placing paper waste around the trash can or leaving instant noodle cups on the desk, it created the feeling that the avatar was so focused that even cleaning up seemed like a waste of time. It added a realistic sense of everyday life while also motivating me to work harder myself. I selected this work because I wanted to expand the range of meanings that room items can convey.

I chose this because I had recently been thinking it would be fun to become a café employee. I really like the sleek impression created by the vertical lines in the design.

I chose this because the conversation chair felt perfectly suited to gogh’s atmosphere, where people quietly accept one another’s presence. It makes me want to whisper progress updates to someone sitting beside me.

This is truly a museum-inspired outfit! Even though it incorporates completely different creatures, the design feels remarkably cohesive. Most of all, the butterflies pinned throughout the outfit resemble frills and look absolutely adorable.

I selected this because I would love to experience spending time in a quiet café on the ground floor of an old building, reading books while hardly anyone else is around, within the world of gogh. I especially love that the Napolitan pasta is served on a stainless-steel plate—it perfectly captures the charm of a classic Japanese café.

I think it would be amazing if gogh were filled with fictional games that don’t exist in real life, or games that make people think, “I wish this were a real arcade game.”

These are the 20 works selected by our 10 selection members!

What Happens Next

The selected designs will be implemented in both the mobile and Steam versions of gogh.

As stated in the contest guidelines, some parts of the designs may be adjusted during implementation due to production requirements, display considerations, usability, technical limitations, or development workload. In addition, item names, categories, and other details may be adjusted by the gogh team as needed.

We will do our best to preserve the charm and spirit of each submitted design while ensuring that it fits naturally within the world of gogh.

We will share more details about the implementation schedule once plans have been finalized. As mentioned in the recent gogh Newsletter, we have decided to release all selected items at the same time, so the earliest expected release timing will be around autumn. We know this means a bit of a wait, but we hope you’ll look forward to it!

Finally

Once again, we received an incredible number of wonderful submissions for this project—far more than we ever imagined.

Not only from the works that were selected, but from every single submission we received, we could feel the creativity, passion, and love that all of you have for gogh.
