Important: Due to major system changes, a new save file is required for this update. Old saves are not compatible.
New Core Feature: Gladiator Classes
The arena just got more dangerous.
Three unique gladiator classes are now available:
Murmillo (Strength) Requires 10 Strength to train Heavy, durable, built to dominate
Hoplomachus (Charisma) Requires 10 Charisma to train Spear-based control fighter
Dimachaerus (Agility) Requires 10 Agility to train Fast dual-blade attacker
classes includes:
2 unique skills per class (6 total)
21 brand new animations
Distinct combat identity and playstyle
New Staff: Doctore
Introduced Doctore staff role
Provides:
Daily training XP to gladiators
Class-specific training bonuses
Weapons Update
10 new spears added
Spears now include reach distance in combat

Combat & Energy System Overhaul
Combat pacing and behavior have been reworked:
Gladiators now flee temporarily to recover energy when low
Improved combat flow and realism
New combat hotkeys:
Space → Pause / Unpause
1 / 2 / 3 → Speed control (0.5x / 1x / 2x)
Fully remappable in Options
Balance & Systems
Facilities rebalanced to reflect true cost and value
General improvements across combat and management systems
Fixes
Multiple minor bugs and UI issues resolved
General stability improvements
Developer Notes
This is a foundational update.
Gladiator Classes are live, but not finished. Right now the focus is getting them into your hands early and seeing how they actually perform.
Next steps:
Deeper class specialization
Better identity and balance between classes
Early game quality-of-life improvements
Hoplomachus is currently tied to Charisma, but this will likely change to a more appropriate dedicated stat.
Once classes are stable, the next core feature will be:
Relationships & Personalities
That system will push the game much further toward long-term attachment and emergent storytelling (well in theory lol).
