changedWelcome to First Age!Hello! I'm Chris the lead (and only) developer for this game, i've been cranking away down in the coding caves searching for rare gameplay minerals, i believe i've found enough to consider myself a good cave-dweller and much like my cave-men we're ready to emerge and show off what we can do.
changedPlaytest When?that's a damn good question, at the current state of the game, there is no doubt that it is almost at the stage where private testing will be available, with the first pool of closed testers of about 30 giving months of feedback, i am far more confident than i have ever been that testing for everyone who's been eager to give it a go will commence very soon so keep your eyes peeled for announcements.

Welcome to First Age!

Hello! I'm Chris the lead (and only) developer for this game, i've been cranking away down in the coding caves searching for rare gameplay minerals, i believe i've found enough to consider myself a good cave-dweller and much like my cave-men we're ready to emerge and show off what we can do.

TLDW: what do i do in this damn game?

Objective is pretty short and simple - survive until the final age, reach a certain amounts of points to survive, what your board consists of will make or break your run towards civilisation and out of the dark ages. How you do that is based on your choices, be it what you build, what you do with the cards you have, and the synergies you make between your deck.

The Last Year of Development

Even though this should be some kind of professional, very upper crust writing where it comes across like something you'd find in a real article or perhaps a autobiography on what happened months before a man realises he's wasted a year of his life; i'm not really adhering to it, the last year and a half of making this game has been one of the most difficult and most rewarding experiences in my life.

I enjoy taking risk, the fear of losing time is great, but as is attempting the impossible, what greater joy can one have by doing the things not because they are known to be a success, but instead known to be risky and yet pushing foward regardless. Easy things dont define but instead attempting that which few may do.

self indulgance out of the way.

As this is just an introduction to the game's announcement, there will be a boatload of stuff along the way, such as exhausted formats of commanding british speaking people talking about game-design on youtube, fun little behind the scenes, and QnA sort of stuff, as i would emplore anyone who has read this far without thinking "reading this is making me physically ill" to ask as much as they can, or even just say as much as they can, and this feild of study interests me to no end.

Playtest When?

that's a damn good question, at the current state of the game, there is no doubt that it is almost at the stage where private testing will be available, with the first pool of closed testers of about 30 giving months of feedback, i am far more confident than i have ever been that testing for everyone who's been eager to give it a go will commence very soon so keep your eyes peeled for announcements.

To The Testers

For all of the people who have spent the last few months doing the pre-alpha testing to get the game into the state it's currently in, thank you; your feedback, comments and relentless amount of player logs to look through have been more than useful.

They say there's no such thing as being self-made, and i feel like this is the most evident moment looking back, over the last 5 months of private testing i cannot believe the sheer amount of feedback i've gotten from everyone, i wont name any names but if you've sent me any feedback regarding the playtest you're definitely on the list.
