Hi Fellows,

As mentioned in the previous Campfire Checkpoint, we’re excited to share a new update video showcasing some of the work currently in progress for EAS3.

This video offers a first look at several developments across the team, including the new Seasons direction and some ongoing improvements we’ve been refining behind the scenes. While this written summary will cover the highlights, we highly recommend watching the video for the full context and additional details, as there is a lot more nuance and visual information that is best experienced directly.

As always, your feedback is incredibly valuable to us. We appreciate you following along and being part of the journey!

Important Dates

The new season is scheduled to launch on Monday June 22. The release was moved up slightly to avoid overlapping with other major industry events in early June. This will also be the game’s first Monday release.

To improve launch quality, the team is expanding testing. Private testing begins May 15, giving players early access to in EAS3 content.

We want to highlight that participants will be experiencing some features in an unrefined stage, not in their final state. This means things may look or feel a bit rough around the edges at times. This is because our priority is to get as much content tested as possible ahead of release, rather than waiting to present something fully polished.

Access will be handled through First Look sign-ups, and all testing will take place under NDA.

Season Overview – Rise of the Heskyr

The upcoming season is titled “Rise of the Heskyr.” This is the first time the game is leaning heavily into a single unifying theme for a new Season release. Everything in the update connects around one core idea: blood.

The Heskyr – New Enemy Faction

The Heskyr are a new faction built around ritual, devotion, and sacrifice. Their society follows a strict caste system. Members rise through sacrifice and devotion, eventually becoming vessels for their blood god. At higher ranks, they gain a chest cavity that allows their god to see through them.

Their ultimate goal is to revive a fallen corrupted god, timed with an approaching blood moon. Their design draws inspiration from ancient civilizations, focusing on grounded but symbolic architecture and culture.

New Hero – Gunde (Name Not Final)

A new playable hero is being introduced, currently called Gunde, though the name may change. He is a dual wielding berserker inspired by Scandinavian folklore. He is our new Melee DPS hero.

The design avoids stereotypical Viking elements and instead focuses on something more grounded and authentic while still feeling new. More details, including gameplay, will be shared soon, and players may have a chance to influence his final name by leaving a comment on the video with their best suggestions!

Visual and VFX Improvements

The team is continuing to upgrade visual effects across the game, especially for older heroes. The focus is on making abilities clearer, more impactful, and better integrated into the world. This is something you have already seen with Tariq after his VFX glow-up earlier in the season.

Sylvie is another example of this VFX rework. Her visuals are being refined with stronger nature and flower themes, improved clarity, and more polished effects. Similar updates are planned for other "older" heroes over time.

Thanks for watching/reading and see you in the next update!
