Fantasy Map Simulator changes
Vassal State System
Nations may become vassals after defeat in war
Vassals must pay annual tribute (30% of yearly income) to their overlord in December
Overlords have military access to vassal territories
Vassals are forced to leave all alliances and end all wars
Diplomatic Restrictions:
Vassals have no independent diplomatic power
Must follow all decisions made by their overlord
Independence Mechanics:
No independence seeking within first 5 years of vassalization
More likely to seek independence when power grows close to overlord
More likely during overlord's military setbacks
More likely when overlord corruption is high
Desire for independence increases with time
Interface Improvements:
New vassal controls added to nation panel
Vassal borders shown in green
Overlord borders shown in purple
Provincial Fortress System
Added manual fortress/pass editing functionality
Operation: Hold Shift + Left Click to open province panel
Option to fortify or de-fortify provincial capitals
Treasury Impact on Combat Power
Treasury status now affects national combat power
Government Type Effects:
Tribal systems least affected by treasury
Imperial systems moderately affected
Republican systems most affected
Cultural Effects:
Nomadic cultures least dependent on treasury
Hunter-gatherer and agricultural cultures moderately dependent
Maritime cultures more dependent
Commercial cultures most dependent on treasury status
Note: Vassal independence probability is dynamically adjusted based on relative power comparison with the overlord.
