In a small, secluded village in France lived a young girl named Eona. Since her father’s death on the battlefield, she and her mother had led a fragile existence, shaped by the seasons and hardship.

The only tangible memory of her father was a puppet he had crafted with his own hands — a small masterpiece of wood and fabric, a reflection of his love for his daughter.

Every evening, Eona would bring the puppet to life in the village square. Her delicate fingers gave motion to the inanimate, and for a few moments, the villagers forgot their sorrows. Through these improvised performances, she earned just enough coins to survive.

But fate, already cruel, struck once more — her mother fell gravely ill. Remedies existed, but they were reserved for the wealthy, and Eona’s family had nothing. As the days passed, her mother’s strength faded away.

One night, as she watched over her sleeping mother, Eona remembered a tale she used to tell:

“Beyond the hills, in the old ruined castle, lies an ancient relic — a cross of forbidden power, said to control souls themselves. They say it’s worth more than all the gold in the kingdom... But none who sought it ever returned. The cursed fairy Mélusine guards the castle, and her wrath is as old as stone.”

Driven by hope, Eona made her decision. At dawn, she left the village, clutching her father’s puppet to her chest. Ahead, the castle loomed in the mist.

What she did not yet know was that this journey would be more than a quest for an artifact… It would be the beginning of a destiny where life and soul intertwine.
