We have good news and bad news.
The good news
you can now build a base.
The bad news
you're still going to die in it.
Base Building is now available in experimental state. You can finally construct your own shelter, lay down walls, place furniture, and make the end of the world feel a little more like home. We have limited furniture and decoration options for now, but more will be added gradually, because even in the apocalypse, interior design matters.
For now, building requirements are intentionally kept very low so everyone can jump in and interact with the mechanic as much as possible. Enjoy it while it lasts, material costs will be adjusted as the system matures. So seriously, take advantage of this. 🔨
⚠️ Side effects of base building may include:
Zombies standing confused next to your walls, staring into the void, questioning their purpose. This is a known navigation mesh limitation and dynamic NavMesh generation is currently being tested(It's a lot for one person to handle). In other words: during horde attacks, expect interesting behavior from the undead near player-built structures.
We warned you. It's experimental. But it's yours. Build something beautiful. Build something strong. Build something that will make your inevitable death feel at least slightly more meaningful. 🪦
More content, furniture and fixes coming as we go. Thanks for being part of this slow-motion catastrophe. 🙏
