Closed Playtest and Updated UI/UX

Hi friends! Over the past month, we’ve been actively working on the UI/UX of the main game. The goal was simple: to make the interface clearer, more convenient, and more enjoyable to use.

changedOver the past month, we’ve been actively working on the UI/UX of the main game. The goal was simple: to make the interface clearer, more convenient, and more enjoyable to use. Thank you to everyone who has already shared feedback. It really helps us spot weak points and improve the game step by step.
addedRight now, we’re expanding the closed playtest very carefully and adding players gradually, roughly one person after each update. Since the game doesn’t have a full tutorial yet, it’s important for us to get feedback from people who are willing to explore an early version calmly and are not afraid of the game being in a raw state. Once the tutorial is added, we’ll be able to invite more players.
changedThe main goal at this stage is to make the first level as fun and understandable as possible. We want players not only to figure out the mechanics, but also to enjoy the game from the very first mission. That’s why we’re not rushing things and are carefully watching where players need more information, where the interface gets in the way, and where the rules need to be explained better.
addedWe’ve also added a pause mode. Now you can stop time, calmly study the islands, look at the situation, and give orders to your workers. And if you want to speed things up instead, you can accelerate the game and watch your civilization grow faster.
addedWe’ve already updated the screenshots on the Steam page with the new interface. Some elements are still temporary, but they will soon be replaced with final versions that better match the overall style of the game.
addedWe’ve also drawn units for the upcoming eras. Soon we’ll start adding them to the game and updating the screenshots to better show how Empires Edge will evolve from the Stone Age into later eras.
