BALANCE CHANGES
LUCKY BURST (▼) Lucky Burst remains a perk that is always good to include in your builds. We want it to stay fun but not feel like a mandatory requirement.
Speed: 50% → 40%
SHOOTING STAR (▼) Shooting Star was wreaking havoc overall and could be forced consistently. We want it to be a perk that occasionally gives you a breather, rather than one that forces you to play ANAGLYPH MINDSET (Lv. 3) to force it in every run.
Its spawn rate was reduced to 50%
FOG VETERAN (▲) In this patch, we are trying to bring back window vaulting builds, so naturally we had to give a push to the quintessential vaulting perk to bring it up to par with the rest.
Scaling speed readjusted.
New cap: 80% → 350%
CURSED STAR (▼)
That star was definitely cursed...
75% chance to appear → 50%.
2 extra stacks → 1 extra stack.
SHOOTING STAR can no longer be selected.
While carrying a CURSED STAR, EL EDU will now see your aura permanently.
VIGILANTE (▼)
Slowdown cap: uncapped → 25%
ANAGLYPH MINDSET (▼) It was allowing builds to play very greedily and safely. We believe this takes away the sense of risk and fun. We are going to try forcing them to be picked up before opening the exit gates.
NEW: If the exit gates are opened and the glasses haven't been picked up yet, they will now disintegrate.
AGORAPHOBIA (▼)
The adjustment of allowing the effect to linger for a while after leaving the tile has resulted in bringing this perk to the most popular club. We are going to make it a bit harder to stack to encourage the combination of flat addition + percentage multiplier.
Base: 0.4 → 0.35
Scaling: 0.2 → 0.1
EL EDU (*)
We want to slightly expand the range of floors that we consider should be the "official run" in the current state of the game. That's why we adjusted EL EDU's values to allow for consistently higher floors, but without leaving behind the technical challenges presented by floors 4, 6-7, 8, and 10. We introduced a new mechanic to remove the free pass that hyper-vision builds had.
Reduced window vaulting speed scaling per floor.
Reduced movement speed scaling per floor.
NEW: From floor 11 onwards, EL EDU can use BLACKOUT, reducing your vision by 25% and your button aura range by 25% for a few seconds.
BUG FIXES
ELECTRICIAN: Since the last patch, the ability was not being correctly applied to buttons revealed by INSPIRATION.
The inventory could not be opened in the CURSED STAR selector and it would lock up.
Looping the Rooms was not recognizing some small loops, it has been readjusted.
SYSTEM
- Run-time compiled shadersWe have added another pre-compilation layer to try to reduce the stuttering some players experience when picking up a poster for the first time.
- NEWAdded a high-contrast cursor for perk selection.
ELECTRICIAN: A small QoL change to avoid relying on looking at the HUD in tight situations. It now plays a sound when successfully activated.
POSTERS: Picking up a poster now plays a UI sound.
