FELLOW EDU LOVERS!! ːlunar2019piginablanketː

After having a look at the stats of your runs I've found some things to adjust. Congrats to Sa1kik and bouken_101 for achieving the best results yet so far on their runs!

We have huge changes this time, a few system tweaks and we're also tuning some perks to give them better chances of being picked and we're limiting the power of other monstrosities perks.

SYSTEM CHANGES

STATS OVERLAY

If you're a stats freak, now you can hold TAB (keyboard) or Select / Back (controller) at any time during a run to see your current effective stats:

  • Movement speed (m/s)

  • Vault speed multiplier

  • Sight range (m)

  • Window aura range (m)

  • Power-button aura range (m)

Values refresh live as perk stacks, cooldowns, and linger timers tick — each row turns green when it's above the base stat, red when below, and white when it's at base.

BALANCE CHANGES

COLLECTOR ▼

Collector was stacking a bit too hard, and makes sense, a perk that gives EVERY stat is just very good, even more when there's a perk that let's you press all the buttons that have their aura revealed, so we're removing stats that can be stacked other ways — but in exchange it now rewards grabbing every physical poster, not just distinct designs:

  • Removed: per-stack vault speed (was +1% per stack).

  • Removed: per-stack power-button aura range (was +0.5m per stack).

  • New: picking up a second copy of a poster that was already found this run now grants a stack as well.

LUCKY BURST ▼

We know this is everyone's favorite so we tried to not touch the important part (the GPS). Trimmed the burst window a little so it's a tighter reaction tool rather than the safe choice:

  • Base duration: 2.5s → 2.0s.

  • Duration per level: 0.5s → 0.4s.

CHANCES ▼

Look, the stats says CHANCES is already the least-picked perk in the game. And honestly? Good. I hate it. I have always hated it. So I nerfed it again, out of spite, so that it can continue its proud tradition of being the least-picked perk in the game. Enjoy:

  • Base range: 6m → 4m.

  • Range per level: 4m → 2m.

POCKET TIME ▲

Bumped both the base flat values and their per-level scaling so Pocket Time feels worth committing to earlier:

  • Base movement speed per stack: 0.05 → 0.10

  • Movement speed per level: 0.025 → 0.03

  • Base sight per stack: 2.0 → 2.5

  • Sight per level: 2.5 → 2.6

VIGILANTE ▲

Not many of you have been using this perk and it's understandable, unless you come from a certain other big asymmetrical multiplayer game, it's not natural to look behind you while in chase, that's why we've decided to give a little tweak to VIGILANTE so it feels more rewarding.

  • Base slow: 1.2% → 1.5%.

  • Speed bonus now lingers for 0.45s after losing line of sight. The HUD bar drains during the linger effect so you can see the buff fade out.

LOOPING THE ROOMS ▲

This is a tough one because, in numbers, this perk should be strong but since it's so situational it becomes very hard to measure; hence is low popularity. Now rewards commitment in early game to a single set loop instead of endlessly hopping between structures:

  • While the player stays on the previously-completed loop path, they now gain an extra +20% movement speed on top of the stack bonus.

  • The circuit hologram effect now subtly pulses while the on-circuit bonus is active, so you can see exactly when it's being proc'd.

AGORAPHOBIA ▲

Rewarded more consistently for seeking out the open, and darting through a narrow spot between two plazas no longer snaps the buff off every step:

  • Base movement speed: 0.6 m/s → 0.65 m/s.

  • Movement speed per level: 0.2 m/s → 0.25 m/s.

  • The bonus now lingers for 1s after leaving a fully-open cell. The HUD bar drains during the linger so you can see the buff fade out.

BUG FIXES

  • ODM GEAR: the reeling-loop sound could get stuck playing forever if the round ended (death, escape, F1 to menu) while the hook was still pulling. Now should stops cleanly on every exit path.

  • (EXTERNAL MUSIC PLAYERS) Jumpscare audio bleed: the jumpscare was supposed to cut all music and terror layers the instant EL EDU got you, but a scene transition left one more physics tick worth of terror-radius updates running, and external media players (Spotify on Linux, etc.) sometimes ignored the call. Now the external player is both muted and paused (and resumed after the run) as a belt-and-suspenders guarantee.

  • PAUSE STACKING: auto-pauses from Steam overlay, window focus loss, or multi-window switching could occasionally stack a second pause on top of an already-paused state. When this happened you had to unpause two (or N) times, we hope to have this cleared by now.

If you read all that, THANK YOU YOU'RE AMAZING, I HOPE EL EDU LET'S YOU ESCAPE!! ːlunar2019piginablanketː
