Echoes of Sin: Confusion changes
Steam post image Hello everyone,
here’s a quick development update on the current progress of Echoes of Sin: Confusion.
### Localization
Additional language support has been added to the game. The UI and subtitles are now fully functional in the following languages:
English
Czech
Slovak
Chinese (Simplified)
Italian
Portuguese (Brazil)
Portuguese (Portugal)
Spanish
Polish
French and German localization are currently being finalized.
We are also still looking for translators for Russian and Japanese.
---
### Improved Audio Accessibility
The audio system has been expanded with more detailed control options. Players can now independently adjust:
Master volume
Ambient sounds
Music
SFX
SFX now also includes sub-categories for specific gameplay elements such as **jumpscares** and **footsteps** (both enemy and player).
---
### Basement Level Progress
The **Basement level** is now fully completed from a world-building perspective and part of the gameplay has already been implemented.
Work is currently underway on a new **code lock system**. We are experimenting with different ways for players to discover the keypad codes that unlock new doors. At the moment we are still deciding between a classic UI approach or a more immersive hover-based interaction, similar to the systems used in older Doom titles.
---
### Audio Expansion
Around **350 new sound effects** have been added and fully implemented into the game.
Localization audio cues have also been improved to help guide the player through certain situations.
In addition, an **anti-softlock system** is being introduced in specific areas to prevent players from getting stuck without knowing what to do next.
The guidance will not be explicit. Instead, the game will provide **subtle visual and audio hints** if the player spends too much time in one location (roughly 5–10 minutes).

Thank you for following the development and for all the support so far.
