Dummy Pirates: Ocean Tales changes
Welcome to the Dummy Devblog #4! (New name for our devblog, how is it?) Our first devblog since the Early Access.
We're finally adding a tutorial level! A lot of people have asked us about this and now it's almost here! Among a lot of small and not-so-small fixes that came with the Early Access release.
Here's a little preview of the Tutorial level!
An awesome job mainly done by our team members Oscar and Jilmer. It still needs a bit more work but you can expect to see it very soon.
Beside this, we've been also working on a lot (A LOT) of fixes for different things in the game that have popped off since the last couple of weeks. We won't go into detail for each one because this would make this devblog an e-book, but to list some of them:
The game starts before all players have loaded
Ships suddenly become invisible while still having visible cannons
Mob's projectiles not damaging players
Chest keys not properly dropping
Fixing the broadcast message
Spikes in network lag
Kill counter not properly updating
When 2 players collect an item at the same time, they both get the item
But now all of those have been fixed, so no issue here.
And last, but not least, we now have wind effects for the speed boost in-game! You can use the speed boost using the Shift key while moving your ship, it will give you a temporary boost which you can use strategically to move around the map and outmaneuver enemy ships.
That's it for now! Make sure to hop in when you've got some time to try out these new fixes, and we will release a small update when the Tutorial is officially released.
