Version 0.0.728 of the Draw Steel Codex is now available.

Power Roll Diagnostics Added to the Ability Editor

The Ability Editor now shows some diagnostics underneath the preview panel to help with authoring abilities that have an Ability Power Roll behavior. This is to supplement the existing grey text when unrecognised and white text when recognised. When everything is configured correctly, there will be a small chip saying No Issues. If there are issues detected with the rules text being parsed, the chip will expand and flag what tier the issue is on and what the issue is.

  • When an ability is set to the Unimplemented status, it will flag a number of issues such as:

    • Incorrect spelling on damage types

    • Conditions missing a duration where one is expected. E.g. will flag for Weakened but not for Prone

    • Will flag when something is not being interpreted as a rule (such as flavour text)

  • When an ability is set to Bronze or above, the assumption here is that if you have changed the implementation status, you have added whatever behaviours necessary to make the ability work. The diagnostics chip will stop showing issues where text is not being interpreted as a rule but will still flag for incorrect damage types and conditions missing durations.

Combat Tracker UI Update

We have reworked the combat tracker to make it simpler and easier to use.

  • There is a new draggable panel above the Battle Compass. This supports dragging a portrait from the Heroes or Monsters side to the middle and triggering the start of turn.

  • There is a new Combat Settings Cog to the right of the Battle Compass which will provide you with a list of Combat Settings formerly only available in right-click or by navigating to the Game Menu

  • The initiative portrait cards now more cleanly show who has acted and who is yet to act.

Monster Updates

  • It's a week for Solo's! The Manticore and Medusa have both been implemented.

  • The Wode Hag is now fully implemented. Enjoy handing out snackies for your sweeties!

  • Implemented the following Echelon 2 Demons: Grulqin, Orliq, Wobalas

Bug Fixes & Other Improvements

  • Fixed some issues where the ability preview in the Ability Editor would show grey text (could not be interpreted as a rule) when the text is recognised and runs successfully when an ability is used.

  • The prone condition now has red reminder text when moving to remind the player their movement speed is reduced.

  • Tactician's Mark additional damage now applies to all targets of a multi-target power roll, not just the marked target

  • Censor's judgement now applies a bane to the whole roll when used, instead of only for one target

  • Sprite Dandeknight Free strikes corrected to reflect damage choice and 2 creature targeting.

  • Correct keywords in Conduit Word of Guidance

  • Correct keywords in Conduit Word of Judgement

  • Fix bug with Summoner summons not allowing selection outside of Summoner Range

  • You can now hold [c]Ctrl[/c] to lock a Monster preview tooltip in the bestiary and scroll through the tooltip. This means you can now scroll through large stat blocks

  • Fixed an issue where the Dwarf Snaring Line would disappear on death of the Dwarf used to cast the ability rather than lasting to the end of the encounter

  • Fixed an issue where the Surprised ongoing effect was using old rules text

  • Fixed an error that occurred when you used Coat the Blade and attempted to use a damage ability with surges and convert the damage to poison

  • Made it so Instantaneous Excavation and similar abilities don't let you put both holes in the same place.

  • Gnoll Iron Jaws Malice ability now pauses the game when an enemy walks into it, similar to the Snare and other traps.

  • Updating target text for the [c]Stolen Vitality[/c] ability for the Soulwight and Armoured Soulwight to 'One ally'

  • Raider Kit Signature ability name updated to "Raider's Awe" to match rules errata

  • Gnoll Summoner Call Abyssal Hyena ability will now group the summoned Hyena's with the Summoner and be added to combat automatically

  • Resolved an issue where size wasn't being calculated correctly when using Knockback

  • More progress on consolidating the UI and having more areas support theme and colour scheme changes, the most notable being the Tactical Panel
