changedGlobal SearchWe have implemented global search from the search bar in the menu. This search bar previously searched uploaded PDF's and game settings but we have extended this to search throughout the app. There's a lot to cover here and our attempts of a short video kept exceeding 10 mins so we trimmed it down to 5 minutes and let's just say there is more to discover!
addedGlobal SearchSearch is expanded to include the compendium, the bestiary, tokens on map, tokens not on the map, journal documents, map pins, maps in your campaign and can be used as a quick navigation point to search results in all of these areas.
changedGlobal SearchSeveral performance increases to improve responsiveness of search, the most notable of which are Classes which previously took a while to load based on the number of features but we have reduced that to a reasonable time
changedGlobal SearchThe compendium will now filter to only show menu items and results that match your search instead of dimming and highlighting
changedGlobal SearchReworked the feature panel on the character sheet, its now categorized, filterable and features that grant abilities will show these cards
addedGlobal SearchAdded a curated features panel to the Tactical Panel which will show you a curated set of features your character has which are not already displayed as abilities in the action bar or the other 'buckets' in the tactical panel. These show as interactable chips which can be clicked on to get the description. This is a first pass at answering the question of 'what else can my character do?'

Version 0.0.744 of the Draw Steel Codex is available!

We have implemented global search from the search bar in the menu. This search bar previously searched uploaded PDF's and game settings but we have extended this to search throughout the app. There's a lot to cover here and our attempts of a short video kept exceeding 10 mins so we trimmed it down to 5 minutes and let's just say there is more to discover!

In brief:

  • Search is expanded to include the compendium, the bestiary, tokens on map, tokens not on the map, journal documents, map pins, maps in your campaign and can be used as a quick navigation point to search results in all of these areas.

  • You can use [c]Ctrl + F[/c] to search and the arrow keys to navigate results, Enter will open the result

  • Several performance increases to improve responsiveness of search, the most notable of which are Classes which previously took a while to load based on the number of features but we have reduced that to a reasonable time

  • The compendium will now filter to only show menu items and results that match your search instead of dimming and highlighting

  • Reworked the feature panel on the character sheet, its now categorized, filterable and features that grant abilities will show these cards

  • Added a curated features panel to the Tactical Panel which will show you a curated set of features your character has which are not already displayed as abilities in the action bar or the other 'buckets' in the tactical panel. These show as interactable chips which can be clicked on to get the description. This is a first pass at answering the question of 'what else can my character do?'

  • Global search can search for ability names and give you results of heroes on the map that have that ability and open their character sheet

  • Global search can search for traits and features of heroes and enemies and open character sheets

  • Monsters and tokens can be placed on the map from global search

  • Added support for certain monster attributes, e.g. you can search for Level 4 Brute and see all monsters that are Level 4 and have the Brute role.

  • You can search the name of a monster ability and find the monster in the bestiary, open their sheet or place them on the map from here. - If they're already on the map you can click the token result and it will pan to the monster, open the action drawer and flash the ability

Instant Solos

Added a creature template for [c]Instant Solo[/c] which will apply the modifications to a creature as outlined in the Monsters book to turn an Elite or Leader monster into a Solo

Downtime Enhancements

  • Added a new editor for Downtime Activities under Compendium / Rules.

  • Added ability to select an activity or crafting project in downtime projects that have had no progress.

  • Creating a new Downtime Project now automatically pops up the project selector dialog.

Ability Customization

Players can now personalize their character's abilities without modifying the base data.

  • Customize Button - A pencil icon button appears on each ability row in the character sheet

  • Display Name - Rename an ability for your character only

  • Flavor Text - Override the ability's description

  • Character Speech - Add spoken lines that trigger when the ability is cast. Randomly chosen from the list you give it each time.

  • Damage & Potency Bonus - Increase damage or potency for this character's version of the ability

  • Range Bonus - Adjust range, burst radius, cube size, or line dimensions

All customizations are personal to your character and don't affect the base ability used by others.

Community Game Modes

  • The Codex now supports game modes made by the community. You can opt-in to seeing game modes made by the community available when you create a game by enabling it in settings.

  • This is debuting with a proof of concept game mode that supports playing the Crows playtest. It modifies the Codex to work well to play Crows, a role playing game developed by MCDM which is in testing now.

  • Community content like this is developed by community members as mods to the Codex. If you develop a mod that substantially changes the game type, please let us know about it and we can consider adding it to the list of community mods.
