Secrets and Story Update (v33)
This update focuses on secret rooms, item identification, quest flow, dialogue cleanup, and a broad round of balance and usability fixes.
Secrets And Dungeon Flow
Added random secret rooms to many indoor dungeons.
Added small themed secret annexes with loot, features, or encounters.
Improved secret-door detection and Awareness scaling.
Made hidden secret doors look more like ordinary walls until discovered.
Expanded Sunken Crypt with a hidden cultist basement.
Cleaned up older hardcoded secret-room layouts.
Main Story And Quest Flow
Added the Watchtower Prism step to the early main story.
Improved the route from Havenford to Traveller's Rest, Starfall Burrow, and Stonecleft.
Tightened quest directions, map markers, and location catalog notes.
Moved and clarified several world-map side locations.
Reduced quest-giver chatter that was not relevant to that NPC.
Item Identity And Services
Reworked unidentified item names and item property discovery.
Improved Lore skill checks for item identification.
Improved Arcana checks for sensing magical items.
Added paid vendor Examine services for exact item identification.
Added divine vendor Cleanse services for known cursed items.
Moved shop services into cleaner dialogue choices and confirmations.
Made unknown scroll reading riskier.
Items, Combat, And Balance
Added critical-hit bonus stats for items and weapon skills.
Added new spells, wands, potions, oils, rings, weapons, and utility gear.
Reworked armor, armor penetration, shields, and related item stats.
Reworked weapon skill training bonuses.
Reworked early game encounters, loot, and general flow.
Improved traps, treasure chests, and container placement.
Dialogue And Localization
Rewrote and tightened a large amount of NPC dialogue.
Simplified condition-heavy NPC conversations.
Renamed Havenford's reeve title to elder.
Cleaned up supported language overlays.
Improved localization tools and validation.
UI, Controls, And Polish
Added save-slot versioning.
Improved item targeting, item comparison, and vendor confirmation screens.
Improved dialogue choice formatting.
Improved options menu organization.
Improved gamepad controls, quantity controls, and input repeat behavior.
Improved phone map and menu behavior.
Improved remembered trap, blood, world-map, catalog, and shop displays.
Fixes
Fixed several dungeon and wilderness connectivity problems.
Fixed unreachable treasure chests and blocked stair placements.
Fixed Smuggler Cove, Glassroot Hollow, and Orc Fortress layout issues.
Fixed cleave follow-up targeting.
Fixed decoys counting as magical or unidentified items.
Fixed shopkeeper bumping and swapping behavior.
