Dragonfield changes
Alpha 8 is here, including a brand new weapon as well as a new tutorial/tip system! Use the new crossbow to fight far away enemies. You can fire it instantly after reloading, unlike the bow, which opens some new combat styles. The crossbow also comes with a new quiver style for the bolts its firing. A new tutorial/tip system is now in place that will display hints on screen when relevant. They are designed to not be intrusive, but if you think you already know everything, they can be disabled in the gameplay options. (I don't recommend this though as there are many new features coming in future updates)
This is also a good moment to say that after this update, I will be focusing on the Early Access version that will release in a few months. There are so many new additions this version will receive and they are all interconnected so it would slow down development a lot if I did continue release constant updates for the Alpha. But do not worry, there will be another free Alpha update shortly before the Steam release, Alpha 9!

UI
Updated gadget and throwable use indicators to show the button you need to press and changed their order (3 above 4)
The options menu tooltip is now more readable
The health indicator now rotates/fills counter clockwise to fit in more with the previously altered position
Maps
Corrected bot navigation near the pallisades on the map Shorebreak
Corrected a pile of stones slightly floating in air on the map Shorebreak
Gameplay
Added a new dynamic tutorial system that helps you learn the controls. [&] In the future, modders will also be able to use this system to show input tips or display custom messages on screen [&] You can disable the tutorial system in the game options menu
Added a new weapon, the crossbow. Highly effective over long distances but a slower fire rate than the shortbow [&] Bots can not use it at the moment due to it being connected to other changes coming in the future [&] The crossbow also comes with a new quiver
Graphics
Corrected bow texture that was incorrect after Alpha 7s update to the model
Technical stuff
Updated Unity to 2022.2.11
Very minor performance improvement to very high numbers of bots (Now using the new GetLocalPositionAndRotation function)
Several optimizations have been applied to horse behavior to make it more performant, especially on maps with many horses at once
Horses now spawn correctly in relation to the ground
Fixed a dropped ranged weapons ammo being zero when picking up a shield
