The Mage hero class & first glimpse of the world map
Greetings, Dominus!
With the Steam Multiplayer Playtest just around the corner (sign-ups will be opening soon!), the entire Dominus Automa team is hard at work. Today, we want to show you some of the progress we've achieved and tell you more about what's coming next. And so, without further ado... let's dig in!
As the Mage currently serves as the main playable character, we wanted to make sure they truly represent the visual quality we're aiming for throughout the game.
The Mage gets a visual upgrade 🖌️
It's a class we all know and love! Make no mistake, there are plenty more to come, but let's not get ahead of ourselves and focus on today's topic, shall we?
Work in Progress
Our artists have been refining the character with more detailed textures, richer and more vibrant colors, improved anatomy, and a stronger overall silhouette. We've also made equipped items much more visible, allowing your gear choices to have a greater visual impact. Finally, we've worked on reinforcing the Mage's identity as a spellcaster, making the class easier to recognize at first glance while giving it a more distinctive personality.
This is another step toward creating heroes that not only play differently, but also look and feel unique. We really hope you like the implemented changes! As mentioned, our goal is for every class in Dominus Automa to have its own distinctive identity and unmistakable visual style.
Work in Progress
As your journey progresses, so will your hero's appearance. More powerful equipment, new armor sets, and increasingly impressive weapons will gradually transform your hero, making your progression visible not only through your stats, but also through your character's look.
We're also planning to introduce character customization options, giving players even more freedom to create a hero that reflects their own style. While it's still early in development, we're excited to share more about these customization features as development continues.
The World begins to take shape 🗺️
The second thing we'd like to share is our current world map.
Before anything else - it's still very much a work in progress. What you're seeing today is more of a draft rather than a finished product, and many locations, landmarks, and details are still being designed.

Even at this stage, however, the map already hints at the scale of the adventure we're building. You'll notice a variety of distinct biomes, each currently being expanded by our designers and artists into unique regions with their own atmosphere, creatures, and stories. We can't wait to show you what lies beyond those borders. Hidden treasures, dangerous enemies, powerful world bosses, mysterious locations, and countless adventures are waiting to be discovered - and this is only the beginning.
