DIRECT CONTACT changes
I know there’s a lot of competition in the multiplayer FPS market right now, so I’m not looking to compete in that space at this point. That’s why I developed Commander as a multiplayer game mode, giving players a unique tactical experience that stands apart from the usual FPS gameplay.
Introducing "Commander" Mode
Co-op Squad Command: Commander mode is built for 4-player multiplayer. Each of the 4 players can take control of up to 5 units each, meaning you and your mates will be coordinating up to 20 operators on the ground. "keep to 3 in the beginning to get to know the movement"
RTS Meets Direct Contact: This mode retains all the high-fidelity tactical movement and style you expect from Direct Contact, but it will feel instantly familiar if you have played RTS games. You can coordinate complex military movements through alleys, stack up on streets, and set up rooftop overwatch together.
Logistics & Fog of War I am adding deeper strategic layers to how you navigate and survive the combat zone.
Supply Lines: Ammo and gear aren't infinite. You now need to actively deploy and maintain supply lines to get supplies in and keep your squads combat-ready.
- Fog of War & Recon BeaconsThe battlefield is now covered by the Fog of War. To reveal the map, process new areas, and maneuver safely, you need to strategically spawn and place Beacons. Establishing these beacons will open up the area logic, allowing you to push your units forward through the fog.
Gameplay & Control Tweaks
Character Movement Speed Increased: I bumped up the base movement speed for operators. Getting from point A to point B will feel faster and more responsive, keeping the pacing tight when you need to maneuver under pressure.
Commander Controller:
Quick Grenade Throw: You can now press T to quickly throw a grenade.
Tactical Ping: Press P to pin a location on the map for your squad.
Suppressive Fire: Press F to order your units to lay down suppressive fire on a designated target or area.
Please remember that this mode is still a Work in Progress (WIP). There will be adjustments along the way, but I really believe you're going to enjoy spending a night acting as the eyes in the sky over the Lebanon map, maneuvering your squad tactically through the streets, thank you. ED
