addedEven though working on the new game, I have two episodes of Dragon Leaf down. Just 7 more to go. While doing that yesterday, I was able to also add a ton to the new game as well. Steam post image When you first start the game, it will ask if you want a Male or Female main character. I've added systems to check your boat where if you press the page down button, it will tell you the boat's remaining Hull, Cargo Space left, Sail Speed, and your Cannon Power. If you press Page Up, that will load up a list of every good you can trade in the game, and how much you have in your cargo for each. Steam post image I've also added to the testing world map the ability to gather wood, food, and water, but each come at a price. Water and wood has a 1 in 30 chance the wild life will attack, which brings up a JRPG Battle. Hunting will gather the food, and is an instant JRPG battle. I have all of this setup, and for when your character levels up, the creatures get stronger, but give you more resources as well. I've also added a way to escape the naval battles in the game. If you go to the edge of the map, you are asked if you want to escape, and if not, it turns you around and moves you back. I've tested it in full, and the enemy AI I created does still hunt you down when running, but even at weakest sail speed, you can outrun them, unless they go to board your ship. Speaking of the enemy AI system I created, I have also added intelligence to it. It will determine by how much hull is left on your ship, which attacks to make. If your hull is 25% or less, they will go to board you more often. Anything over that, they try to use their cannons if they can. But I have setup so when they board, you have a JRPG battle for your ship. But, depending on your ship's hull's percentage, it will remove that much of your remaining HP as well. So you start that fight weakened more the lower that hull is. And vice versa, The lower the enemies hull is, the less you will have to battle. If their hull is 51% or higher, you fight the entire barrage of the crew and captain as well. Anything between 26% and 50% three of these crew are removed from the battle. Under that, and the Captain has two crew members to defend them. Again, all of this is already setup and what I did yesterday while working on Dragon Leaf. This new game is shaping up fast, but it's also going to be a very large world map with a ton of towns to trade route to and from. I'm not doing a planet Earth mimic map, but something similar so it feels natural. Steam post image Pixel art wise, I have changed the sails for the ship to black for the player's ship, and it looks sharp. It has a purple flag, for the Not Allowed to Die Gaming Studios colors as well. Being only the first 72 hours of development, I am planning on adding more to this and changing the color of the wood to each material the ship's can be made of. Pine, Oak, and Mahogany are so far what I am planning out. But, to get ship's made in better materials, you will have to find, harvest, and bring it back to the Ship Shop to expand their store. I am going to add a way to invest in these shops to be able to build better boats, have better sails, and better and different style cannons as well. As you can tell, I am very excited about this game. But I love Uncharted Waters, and have always wanted a new game like it. I'm tired of waiting...
