Devil of the Plague changes
Major Update 0.2.0 is now live!
Hello Plague Doctors,
Our first major update for Devil of the Plague is here.
Update 0.2.0 brings several new systems to the game, including the new in-game Store, Emote Wheel, Match Statistics, Perks, and a larger cosmetics expansion. This update also includes important balance changes, optimization improvements, network improvements, localization updates, and bug fixes.
Thank you to everyone who has played, shared feedback, reported bugs, posted videos, streamed the game, and left reviews. Your support continues to help us improve Devil of the Plague throughout Early Access.
New Store System
We have added a brand new in-game Store system.
Players can now spend tokens earned from matches to unlock and purchase a variety of cosmetic items. The Store is focused on character customization and gives players more ways to personalize their Plague Doctor.
Emote System
A new Emote Wheel has been added to the game.
The Emote Wheel allows players to communicate and interact with teammates during matches in a more expressive way. This system is designed to make co-op moments more fun, social, and memorable.
Stats & Match Tracking
We have introduced a new match statistics system.
At the end of a match, players can now view detailed team performance data, including stats such as who collected the most keys, who eliminated the most Infected, and more.
This system gives players a better look at how each teammate contributed during the match.
New Cosmetics Expansion
Update 0.2.0 also expands character customization with 9 brand new cosmetic items.
This includes:
4 unique masks
5 distinctive outfits
These new items can be unlocked through the new in-game Store system using tokens earned from matches.
Perk System
A new Perk system has been added to Devil of the Plague.
The Perk system is designed to encourage teamwork, role distribution, and different playstyles during co-op matches.
Players can equip perks that provide unique advantages, such as transporting items faster or detecting nearby items under specific conditions.
This is the first version of the Perk system, and we will continue improving and expanding it with future updates.
Improvements
Rebalanced overall boss difficulty for a fairer and more balanced gameplay experience.
Improved the responsiveness and feel of the Lantern's right-click functionality.
Enhanced the visuals of the end-game cinematics.
Reduced player ping and improved overall network performance.
Applied multiple texture and material-based optimizations across the game.
Improved overall performance and stability in various gameplay scenarios.
Improved character optimization.
Improved Castle map optimization.
Added various localization and translation improvements.
Improved the audio behavior of fleeing zombies for a more immersive experience.
Bug Fixes
Fixed a visual issue on the Dungeon map where the green circle indicator could disappear while carrying an Infected Prisoner.
Fixed an issue on the Egypt map where certain items could spawn in incorrect or unintended locations.
Fixed various minor bugs to improve overall gameplay stability and reliability.
