This is the first major update for the game since release and I'd like to share what I've done so far.

I haven't done the next character yet, but I have done a lot of the Quality of Life stuff. After I complete the next character I'll do more slight fixes other additions before I release the update. As for the list of things I already done:

  • Added "Team Attacks"

  • Added Element: Water

  • Added additional effects to Elements

    • Fire - on turn 3, turns into "Blue Fire" doing massive damage per turn

    • Ice - can "Shatter" when hit by an Ice or Non elemental Critical attack doing decent additional damage

  • Added Icedrake's "Ult" move

  • Added some visual effects for certain actions

  • Fixed Element Proccing issues

  • Fixed some other bugs

  • Adjusted timings between attacks

  • Updated Unreal engine to 5.5

I'll explain some of the major stuff. "Team Attacks" happen when you select the same action for two to three of your characters. They will do the same action on the same turn; the turn of the faster/fastest character. This serves two initial purposes; one, to make 3 v 3 turns faster. Two, to rush down the enemy before they take their turn. There could be other things team attacks could serve but I don't know what they are yet, I just added it recently.

I've added the water element; which slows down non water units and speeds up all water characters. I've also added the Icedrakes "Ult" called Arsenal which increases her attack and defense by a lot and is repeatable.

I have updated the game engine so I don't know if some of the code needs updating too. One of UE 5.5's feature additions is an update to how Lighting and Shadows work. That said you cannot see these changes because it requires Lumen which requires Ray Tracing to be turned on. I've kept ray tracing off for this game because it hits your graphics card by a bit and you can't see any changes if you don't have the proper hardware. For Unreal Engine; you cannot toggle Ray-tracing in-game because it affects the shaders meaning you would have to recompile shaders every time you flip the switch and UE doesn't let you do that.

That all said, If some of you guys have a good system that can run raytracing well, I might redesign the levels in the game to take advantage of the pretty lights and stuff, then compile TWO versions of the game; one with raytracing and one without and you'd be able to select which one you want to play on game launch. That's if anyone's interested, if not I'll continue as is.

Lastly, I'll be working on the next character, and after I'll be adding some more additional mechanics. Then when I release this update, I'll also show the roadmap of updates till version 1.0. so...
