changedAnd instead of receiving gifts, we're giving them out ourselves. The 7th of May 2025 is when the haunted domain first opened its gates to let in hapless humans and feed off of them. Since then, the game has grown immensely and we still have some things to come like the changes you can read about below. Thank you for haunting with us, for your feedback, reviews, workshop scenarios, videos, articles, shout outs, thumbs up and everything else. We read and watch practically all of them, and you have helped shape the game since release day. We hope this shows in all of the updates since then, including this one!
changedAnd instead of receiving gifts, we're giving them out ourselves. The biggest change is the human navigation/pathfinding. When a room only has explored neighboring rooms, humans no longer take the room closest to the heart by default. They now have a random chance to take any of the other neighbors they have not visited before. This will avoid the “always beelining for the heart” behavior some players have reported. Also, humans now have a higher chance to split up from a bigger group.
changedAnd instead of receiving gifts, we're giving them out ourselves.Another ask from a lot of players has been to nerf Pathfinders in the Easy mode, and so we have. They are now reduced to a bare minimum.

Changes

  • Updated Human behavior:

    • Humans have a higher chance to split up from a bigger group.

    • When a room only has explored neighboring rooms, Humans no longer take the room closest to the heart by default. They now have a random chance to take any of the other neighbors they have not visited before. This will avoid the “always beelining for the heart” behavior some players have reported.

  • Reduced the amount of Pathfinders in the “Easy” mode to a bare minimum.

  • Added the option to navigate Rooms with a “cursor” using the right joystick on controller when selecting a target for a card.

  • Only show the red X when there are unconnected rooms in the layout. Only show it on the rooms that are not connected. Also show it on the Entrance Room and Crypt when they are not connected.

  • Lighting optimizations.

  • Allow selection of room targets with controller by hovering the cursor over them.
