Happy launch week!

This week, we're going to share a bunch of gameplay info to you all. And we're starting by introducing you to every item cards, roles and sigils available at the Early Access launch of the game!

Each card in the game has a rarity, which represents its drop rate. The graphics below shows all item cards available on Day 1.

In the game itself, you can select up to one Ability card and 2 Item cards per turn, so you can try various combinations and get different results!

Epic-Rarity Item Cards

Binds of Oguatho (Epic, Disabler)

Enjoy hearing your friends complain as you force them to skip their turn. However, the cards they use do not get discarded from their hand...

Crystal Shard (Epic, Information)

A good card to try and pinpoint a player's potential role or intentions during a turn.

Double Dip (Epic, Randomized)

Straight-forward, you get to draw a new card in the middle of the Chaos Phase. You can even get an ability card from a role you're not!

Epiphany (Epic, Information)

On its own, it can be used to find the potential role of a player by listening to what they have to say. But when used in tandem with Crystal Shard, it may help you uncover the identity of a player...

Plot Armor (Epic, Protection, Randomized)

This is a card we're adding in the week leading up to launch, actually! (Shoutout to Ranen for getting the art done so quickly too!) While we were testing, we realized that the Untainted didn't have a lot of protection opportunities and it made it all too easy for the Corrupted to win. So, we're adding Plot Armor, which gives you a 50-50 chance of activating a protection on you for the current turn, to shift the odds in a more balanced way!

Quick Peek (Epic, Information)

While this one may not seem too useful, keeping track of the item cards another player holds in your Journal is useful when seeing what cards are used the next turn, as it gives you an idea of who those players may have targeted...

Sleight of Hand (Epic, Disabler, Randomized)

Yoink!

Legendary-Rarity Item Cards

Amulet of Oguatho (Legendary, Kill, Randomized)

Based off a feature that was going to be in the now-cut MurderV4 on Rec Room, the Amulet of Oguatho invokes one of the In-Between's entities known as Oguatho to decide the fate of its target. Either the Elder God is in a good mood to kill, or in a bad mood, having you test their patience...

Crystal Ball (Legendary, Information)

At first you may think having a card that simply tells you a player's Sigil Charge is not worthy of being a legendary rarity card. But when you take in the fact you can use it on someone right before that player uses their Sigil the next or current turn, you instantly now know their role. Use that information as you wish...

Duality (Legendary, Randomized)

A useful card when trying to fool the opposite team about your current role, assuming you succeed the random roll first.

Mystification (Legendary, Mystery)

Have a plan or just wanna confuse the crap out of people? Using this card can help do both! It turns every other cards you use this turn into a Mystery Card (see below) for everyone while in the Chaos Phase. >:)

Runic Charm (Legendary, Disabler)

Also just, evil. You get to break someone's protection and have everyone else bear witness? What's next, they die the same turn? Wait-

Mystery Card (Mystery)

You fail to grasp what this card's true nature is... That's probably because it's a card that would either reveal someone's role too easily, or because someone used Mystification or Hidden Mark...

Sigils

Sigils are essentially the Ultimate ability of each roles. At launch, there are 8 of them, along with 8 roles. While playing, you can see your Sigil Charge on your HUD and in-world, represented by a totem on the table that receives energy at the end of every turn. Using cards and having cards used on you grant you more charge. Let's go over them and reveal what role they belong to!

Sigil of Death (Corrupted, Killer)

If the name wasn't obvious already, this sigil belongs to the Killer, who is also the leader of the Corrupted team. Fun fact about the Killer, if they die in any way and someone else on their team is alive, that player then gains the ability to draw the DEATHMARK card. Anyways, the Sigil of Death is a double-edged sword. On one hand, free kill! On the other, you need to protect yourself the next turn. The only one who will know you are marked is yourself, so make sure you have a Plot Armor, or have the trust of the Guardian to protect yourself the next turn!

Sigil of Creation (Corrupted, Maker)

The Maker is next, they're all about creating things, including chaos! The Sigil of Creation quite literally does just that, enabling even more chaos by forcing a player at random to use their sigil on random players (if targets are needed).

Sigil of Negligence (Corrupted, Shaman)

"My bad bruh" is how I'd describe that one. It's annoying for the recipient, but can change the tide of a game into your team's favor depending on what cards you stopped and swapped out.

Sigil of Restriction (Untainted, Truth-Seeker)

That one takes a bit longer to charge than other sigils, but it sure does suck for whoever is on the receiving end of that one. It can be useful to force the Sacrifice out, or to pinpoint someone's role by checking what ability cards don't get used in the next 3 turns. We uh... We might nerf this one shortly after launch depending on feedback. :D

Sigil of Information (Untainted, Spy)

A fast-charging sigil that belongs to the Spy, good to try and gauge people potentially against you.

Sigil of Protection (Untainted, Guardian)

A warm glow makes everyone feel safe for a turn... Until Runic Charm steps in to ruin the fun.

Sigil of Reversal (Untainted, Vigilante)

The longest charging sigil for now, it's basically a big "no u" from whoever is the Vigilante, especially if everyone feels like targeting them that one specific turn (may Oguatho have mercy on you).

Sigil of Vision (Untainted, Seer)

This one gets you a 50-50 shot at guessing someone's role based on the ability cards they have! Unless they used Duality or Double Dip, in which case, it might make things a bit tougher for you...

Annnnd that's it for now! We'll be sharing gameplay details about how turns work and how each phases work tomorrow, so stay tuned for more intel. See you in a week for the launch, cheers!
