Expedition Map Hellо, Hikers!
We’re continuing our series on the shelter and its features, and today we’ll be talking about what lies beyond its walls. The world of Deadhikers has expanded: an expedition map is now available in the shelter, allowing you to choose the direction for your next adventure.
At present, several locations in Canada and the US are available to explore, and further expansion of the map is planned for future updates. As you progress through these areas, the world around you will change, the shelter itself will transform, and new opportunities and locations will be unlocked.
In the future, we plan to add even more unique and dangerous routes.
Before taking your first step outside, you’ll need to choose a difficulty level. This determines just how hostile nature and those lurking in the mist will be:
Normal: a relatively forgiving mode. You can see your location on the map, there are plenty of supplies around, and hunger and thirst don’t take their toll too quickly.
Hard: a challenge for experienced hikers. You will no longer see your location on the map; you’ll have to navigate blind. Resources will be scarcer, your needs will grow faster, and the monsters will become more brutal and tougher.
Very Hard: a pure survival simulator. The map is useless, loot is catastrophically scarce, your hunger and thirst levels are dropping before your eyes, and any encounter with monsters, which have become incredibly resilient and deadly, will most likely be your last.
Check your kit, work out your supplies and choose your route wisely. This forest rarely forgives mistakes.
See you on the trail!
