What changed
- Gameplay
Hello everyone! Here is a sneak peek at the next update to DA_RL. Called “The End” this update adds a story and ending to DA_RL.
Regions
The dungeon now has new regions that change depending on how far down in the dungeon you go. Explore different regions like the upper warrens and the sunken vaults. Each region changes the appearance of the dungeon and signifies a change in difficulty.
Lore
There is now a small story to the game, and the player has a name along with a name for the world.
An Ending
DA_RL now has a defined ending. You must collect 5 different shards of the Amulet of Ascension. Once you have all five shards, you must combine them and bring the amulet back up to the surface. Only then can you close off the evil pouring from the dungeon
New Look and Feel
I am switching DA_RL from Unity over to MonoGame. Why? Well, I wasn’t using most of the features in Unity, and I wanted more control over how the game played, displayed, and how it felt. Right now, the game feels so much smoother and looks better than the Unity version.

If all goes according to plan, the update should come out sometime next week. Also, everything I have said and shown here is subject to change, especially the UI, which needs a little bit more polish. Thanks for playing DA_RL, I can’t wait to share this update with you all!
